Why do you think the recent data reflect a different trend than the more comprehensive data?

Yeah, you are going to need to provide documentation of that, given that the death numbers don't match Canada's data from the previous week (which shows 359 weekly deaths not even including the Western Provinces).

There were two times when Canada had 227 deaths in a seven day period, the 7 days preceding 11/1/20 and 3/10/21. Now I'm kind of curious about duggers_dad's source.

I saw this a couple of weeks ago and have alluded to it repeatedly. Just a shame that those vaccines made for the ancestral strain, that are still being pushed, don't work against the new variants....oh wait, they do!! Seriously, I think that this variant was finally the one that brought the discussions of the roles of Memory B and T cells and non-neutralizing antibodies into focus for the more of the mainstream media trying to report on this topic. Pretty much what most virologists have been saying to over a year now. Very much like the vaccines for polio and the measels, neutralizing anti-bodies against SARS-CoV-2 cannot remain high in the human body for ever, but the memory B and T cells (and the rest of immune system) rapidly respond to infection and prevent or reduce the severity of disease.

Yeah quite a while back I read an article in the Atlantic that explained the different impacts of antibodies, T cells, memory cells, as well as differing incubation rates of different diseases and it was kind of a Beavis with a light bulb over his head moment for me. It will be extremely difficult and perhaps impossible to have a vaccine that will prevent Covid infection over the long term as antibodies wane and memory cells take a few days to kick in. But those memory and related cells also provide fairly robust defense against severe illness for quite some time.

    Well considering...

    0.0% were fully vaccinated December 31, 2020

    0.3% were fully vaccinated January 31, 2021

    1.4% were fully vaccinated February 28, 2021

    1.9% were fully vaccinated March 31, 2021

    3.0% were fully vaccinated April 30, 2021

    5.6% were fully vaccinated May 31, 2021

    31.0% were fully vaccinated June 30, 2021

    59.0% were fully vaccinated July 31, 2021

canada covid vaccination rate - Google Search

This is why the current situation matters. Using a time frame when a massive amount of the deaths were occurring yet very few people were vaccinated is meaningless information.

Now what we do know and still does not get reported well...elderly/obese/certain comorbidities are the groups of people dying with Covid. Vaccinated or Unvaccinated.

Yep, age matters here. Which is why it is important to consider age and do age adjustments when looking at vaccine effectiveness. However, you specifically reject doing that when analyzing vaccine effectiveness. Why?

Yes age matters when it comes to this disease. Vaccinated or Unvaccinated. And if duggers numbers are correct...

100% of the deaths were vaccinated in Canada recently. Well 99.56% with somewhere around 93-94% of those 60 and older being fully vaccinated in Canada and 82% of the population.

His numbers aren't correct. I already showed that they were wrong. But I notice that you didn't answer the question: why do you reject age adjusting the vaccine data if age is so important?

For example, let's take the largest province of Canada: Ontario. Almost 40% of the population of Canada.

Somebody over 70 that isn't vaccinated had an 81.78x likelihood of dying from Covid than somebody who completed the series over the past 60 days. Those numbers declined to 6.57x and 6x for 60s and 50s and 2x for 40s. Younger than 40, the only people who died were unvaccinated.

You see similar numbers in Alberta over the last 120 days (which is their window):

I have no doubt the hard numbers match closely to England's. Could there be a wild week where they skew heavier vaccinated or unvaccinated? Sure.

But you keep getting those boosters! o_O:cool::confused::):D:devil:

England's data shows that when you age adjust the vaccine figures, every age group benefits from the vaccine. Same as the Canadian data. You have previously rejected doing age adjustments for vaccine effectiveness. Can you explain why?

Age matters. So does vaccination status by age. It's one thing to say X% of all deaths were from the vaccinated in an area where Y% is vaccinated. But a better question is what percent of X were over 60? And what percent of people over 60 are vaccinated?

For example, in Canada, nearly 94% of people over 60 are vaccinated. With that high a population over 60 vaccinated, we would expect to see a large number of vaccinated still dying from COVID. Why? Because even if vaccinated, the elderly with underlying conditions are more susceptible to the virus than others.

And what do you know…92.8% of Covid deaths since the beginning in Canada are people over 60. Vaccinate or Unvaccinated.

Covid has always targeted the elderly. From the beginning. Vaccinated or unvaccinated. Thankfully the newer variants are not as severe attacking more upper respiratory and we have learned better ways to treat with therapeutics.

So do elderly people with vaccines die at a lower rate than elderly people without vaccines? This is a yes or no question (which I doubt you will answer).

Agree that age matters. Funny when you loved to compare FL and CA you didn't bring up that age matters...

We've known age matters for 2+ years. Yet we shut down schools, closed parks, beaches and youth sports.
