MN held a 26pt advantage at one point in the first half and it was cut to 7. Charles Barkley called them "dumber than a box of rocks." Apparently, they were dumb in the second half too, because once again, they built a 20pt lead in the 3rdQ.
Once again Barkley has crystalized my thoughts eloquently. Yes they were up 83-62 before Memphis went on a 21-0 run. Completely imploded.
I was a Bird/Celtics fan, but those Philly teams were fun to watch; I loved watching Andrew Toney play also. He was a handful. it was good to see Dr. J get a ring. I was pulling for him & McGinnis and that whole wild gang when Walton and the Trailblazers beat them in the Finals. Years later, I came to appreciate the clinic I had seen Walton put on. No telling what Walton could have accomplished if injuries hadn't started hitting him the next season. With LeBron (my GOAT) out of the playoffs, I may be a Celtics fan again this year (for the 1st time since Bird retired) so I can pull for Horford.
I can't argue with any of that. Loved Andrew Toney too. Been fun watching Horford still perform at a high level. Yes Walton's injuries definitely derailed him, he had 2 knee braces on for as long as I could remember and was still solid. Dr J getting a ring was one of the highlights of my life haha. Love Lebron too, absolutely incredible what he's still able to do. Shame his team vastly underperformed this year. I grew up hatin gthe Lakers too but with Lebron on the team I can't help but pull for them. I've often been a fan of the player first, then the team. Still love the Sixers though. Hope they can bounce back in Game 6.
As an old Philly Fan ( and huge Dr. J fan), I always hated ( and respected) those Bird lead Celtic teams. With Big Al back in Boston, I can’t help it, I’ve been pulling for them. Always pulled for any of the ‘04’s, Plus, I do like the way they play defense. I don’t even feel right right saying what I just said…Lol! PS, don’t look now, but Golden State is now the healthiest team out west.
gatordavisl, I think it’s some of both in the playoffs. The Wolves & Grizzlies revolve around 1-2 ball dominate players. I know the stats say they both score a lot, but I was a little … meh with their game. Boston, Miami, Phoenix & Golden State are deeper Teams and seem to use more of their rotations. In crunch time, then there’s iso with just the best players dominating the ball. Just what I think.
Hawks starting g the off-season. ESPN: Serving sports fans. Anytime. Anywhere. I noticed AS didn't tweet any about the game tonight. Edit: I can never seem to be able to copy and paste links right on my tablet.
For pros, it players first for me too. I was a Laker fan when Wilt (along with West and Goodrich) led them to a title and the 33-game winning streak. But, not a Laker fan again until LeBron joined them.
He signed a 4-year $52M extension in February, he was joking about how he’s been telling his mom to quit working since he’s been in the NBA but she finally did after signing that one
Horford doing everything he can to help the Celtics win tonight. Hope it’s enough to get the C’s a win to tie the series up.
