I own 3. Tell me more about what my first amendment rights are as a business owner. Cause clearly you don't value them. At all.

Bunch of fake ass conservatives parading around as the GOP

Corporations have First Amendment rights. The fact that you're proud that DeSantis punished a corporation for expressing protected speech, which is supposedly chilling other corporations from using their rights, shows that you aren't dedicated to free speech, the Constitution, or American values. That's sad.

As an owner of two businesses, you have the right to make that decision. Because this is America. We protect free speech. Clearly, you don't believe free speech is worth protecting.

Yes, I'm a huge fan of Governor DeSantis. I love the fact that no matter how much liberals cry, try to force their woke agenda on us and doesn't cower to them.

Our Governor can't force Disney to stay out politics nor does he have the power to. All he's doing is taking away some special privileges and tax breaks that should have changed years ago. They can still push their woke agenda all they want.

I love the fact that you are so worried about our great Governor and how is runs the state of Florida. We hear opposition every day from the left, funny that you resort to name calling when you hear opposition. Maybe you should suck it buttercup

You still have the right as a business owner in the state of Florida to back or say politically who or what you stand for don't you? So does Disney, they haven't lost any rights. Bunch of woke ass liberals whining, that's all you guys do.
By the way congratulations on owning 3 businesses, one was more than enough for me. I love being retired

In other words, his government punished an organization for speaking out against his policy. That's exactly the sort of conduct the First Amendment protects all of us from. But you're too wrapped up in being a fan to care.

You've got your team, the Republican Party, and one of its "star" players, Ron DeSantis, and you're invested in rooting for them regardless of how they behave. It's part of your identity. For me, America comes first. I don't believe in trading my personal freedoms to own the libs or cons.

Thats what our great Governor is doing putting Florida and America first, that's the reason why he's loved by conservatives and hated by the woke left . I haven't lost or trading a thing for my personal freedoms, Living in Florida we still have them, and so does every business, thanks to our great Governor

No, that's really not what he's doing. It's why the federal courts keep smacking him down for violating the U.S. Constitution. Yet, he only continues to push for and pass unconstitutional laws. Why? Because people like you lap it up. You love seeing the government weaponized against your political enemies.

You aren't dedicated to the Constitution or to democracy. You're dedicated to the Republican Party. Doc is a real conservative. You're a totalitarian---a DeSantis sycophant who would trade our rights for your idol to have more power.

Exactly, as a business owner, clearly the “employees” of Disney who spoke out against the policy are not the owners of Disney (They may be too if they own the stock). A business owner can say something that will affect the value of a business but an employee cannot or they could be fired and in the case of Disney - should be fired as commenting on Desantis’ policy cost the owners of Disney billions of dollars.

I would not like to be Chapek at the next stockholders meeting. No one there will care out his right to free speech - all they’ll care about is the 40% drop in their stock prices.

A CEO of a corporation has a fiduciary duty to maximize profits for its shareholders, right?

Now imagine that it were known that Florida had a governor who would financially punish any corporation whose CEO spoke out against the governor’s actions.

Finally putting these two things together, we can see that a CEO in Florida would have a fiduciary duty to speak only good will of the governor.

Perhaps you still don’t consider this a “loss of rights”, but doesn’t at least sound improper?

Again, you really don't understand how a right works. If the government punishes you for using a right, you dont really have a right. Let's try this a different way.

If the government said everyone who owns a gun has to pay higher property taxes, what would you say?

I don't know about the liberals, but as a conservative, I believe that freedom of speech was properly placed in the first amendment. A government that retaliates against dissent isn't a free government. Government existing to preserve freedoms is a core conservative principle. Apparently no longer a big deal for Republicans, shame on them for not standing up for America.

It's not a loss of rights at all, you and every other Floridian and business still have the same rights as they did yesterday. Actually, I'm a bit shocked that you and others aren't happy that our great Governor is making a rich corporation pay their fair share

That's not the same and you know it. But I'll play your game. I would be forced to pay to it naturally just like when I sold my business and was robbed in the form of capital gains. Didn't like but I still had to pay it. Everybody including you still have your rights.
