It would be quite a coup to get these two. We would have two strong players tough enough to hold their own in the SEC. Kugel I don’t have a warm fuzzy that we can get him in, he is a very good player also.
The portal is really going to make it hard for mid-majors to make any noise in the tournament. You need a core of underrated players who have played together for a few years to be a cinderella, and now anyone who has the ability is going to get sniped by the bigger schools. A lot fewer cinderellas and upsets in the future.
Yep. The majority of mid-major players can't compete at the high-major level. The ones that can are all now jumping to the high-majors. Can't say I blame them, but I'm not sure it's good for the game.
He was good, but was more of an undersized combo guard. Would have been great as a 6th man to bring some scoring pop off the bench. As the lead guy at a major conference 5 program? Middle of the pack. Better coaching and a better system probably would have cleaned it up a bit. He certainly had enough talent to be workable in a good system. Part of the issue is Whites offense basically required his guards to INDIVIDUALLY beat the other guy matchup wise. Even elite guys don’t have their A game all the time, Appleby was probably only in the middle of the SEC as far as ranking starting back courts. So you would only expect him to win his matchup basically half the time. .500 ball was inevitable given the system.
Meet the same admission requirements as any other applicant. We’ll know what he might be lacking the same moment we known what happened regarding Keyonte. Maybe later. This kind of information is behind multiple walls of protection. Could be grades, could be passing certain courses, could be any number of scores on standardized tests, could be other issues I won’t specify. I’ve had several Deans I’ve worked for tell me that Admissions will not listen to them about applicants
Sounds like another one of Coach white’s reach recruits to fill his class when he struck out on others. Perhaps the least effective in developing basketball players or evaluating talent of any basketball coaches we have had. Was a real reach of a coach to replace Billy, given his and staffs experience at the time. When UM and FSU had coaches with 45 years of experience, we hired a guy with 3 years of head coaching experience that had never won his league or made a NCAA tourney. A real gamble and a losing ticket
They need to lock this portal down to save these athletes from themselves and their inner circle’s bad advice. Gatkek was developing nicely towards the end of the year and he leaves to TX State? Fans loved him here, too. This is a real head scratcher.
Useless fact of the day and completely off topic but semi related…amazons Wheel of Time series / Robert Jordan’s book series by the same name has a major character named Tuon.
This doesn’t make any sense. How can he have minimal input on his own decision? Unless by “input”, you mean something other than input.
Scholarships are renewed on a 1 year basis, you can’t just stay because you want to if you wanna read those context clues
What's interesting is that Mike White is not taking any UF transfers...is that due to his contract or for other reasons
