Western Journal's rating as factual is a little lower than Salon's on that chart.

According to Media Bias Fact Check, Western Journal is slightly farther right than Salon is left. And it's factual rating is lower.

I think someone needs to make a chart demonstrating that repeatedly siding with big gov & Chy-na Ron's Safe Space Force over free enterprise is about as libby as it gets.

It’s just bizarro how much Trump has shifted the Republican Party and self-described Conservatives..

These folks equate actions like these with business reacting to the marketplace of ideas..

There is no free speech if the Gov can retaliate for it.

Owning the libs by cracking down on big corporations. What’s next? Ending farm subsidies? That’ll show us.

Did anybody actually read the WSJ article? It basically says executives have to be aware of social/political issues and how speaking out or staying silent on them will be received.

    Not exactly earth shattering stuff.

Something that gets lost in all of this is why Chapek spoke out in the first place, AFTER the bill was passed. He tried to stay silent but it appears that most of you are unaware that DISNEY has a lot of LGTBQ cast members in their creative and entertainment departments. They need to keep those folks happy, too. Some of them would be very difficult to replace, especially in imagineering.

Florida along with a number of other "red" states has long been considered an attractive alternative location for companies seeking to relocate from "blue" states. While scoring political points in the short run if DeSantis keeps up with that crap he could end up doing irreparable damage to the state's reputation in the longer run.

Talking about tying oneself into nots. Self governance=More government=bad. The circle is complete. Conservatism = communism.

Because a state won’t stomp you out. Or the local gov for that matter.

“Big Gov” screeching is performative art, and usually sucks.

So, flgator2, you're still a fan of DeSantis even after his bill has been found impossible and illegal to execute? And he knew it when he did it?

Be aware or else be subjected to retribution from the governor. Not sure how that's a good thing.

You don't even have to be in support of reedy creek to believe how this change came about is dangerous.

Constitution-hating Governor has corporations afraid of using their free speech rights. That's something to be very proud of!

DeSantis’ great victory over Disney is that Reedy Creek’s debt will have to be assumed because it no longer has the taxing power to pay back the development bonds. A billion dollar debt assumed and removed from the books. The premise of Reedy Creek was that this would be a way that Disney, and not the government, would pay for development and services. Now, Disney gets to keep what it developed, but debt free and without providing the services. The only way this can be bad for Disney is if the state reneges on the agreement to back the bonds If it removes the power to tax etc. Then, of course, it is a walk over in court under the impairment of contracts clause and the due process takings clauses. Disney’s silence isn’t surprising; the 4D chess player DeSantis just did them a big favor. The joke is on the people who think this is “punishment.” If this is 4D chess, then the game is how popular DeSantis is for convincing his free speech hating base that he punished Disney.

In what world have we entered where Republicans are bragging about government successfully flexing its authority to quell private companies acting in their own interests???
