Full scholarship, this years class, not next year. Gators add late addition to their 2022 class in JUCO OT Jordan Herman
supposedly we have 7 counters left (now 6) for 2022 due to transfers out of the program - one time counters per transfer lost so not transferable to the next year. but as someone mentioned above, we are already over the 85 limit. Either the staff knows several players will be transferring out this summer or that the ncaa is going to not count super seniors or we are going to use NIL in replace of scholarships…not sure how they are gonna manage this, Regarding this take…I imagine the coaches are not satisfied with the talent depth at OT or o line in general and trying to upgrade the floor of the OL talent on the roster. I think we shall see some of the prior OL takes by Hevesy moving on.
Transfers out don't give you "counters", only impact your space against the 85 limit (or whatever the cap is, as you mentioned re super seniors and the NCAA)
I think it’s a combo of lack of depth and an attitude adjustment. We are heavily recruiting this JUCO transfer as well. 'I didn’t even know what to say': 2022 OL Lovelace elated to receive UF offer, planning OV
We obviously don't have enough depth/talent at OT and haven't for years. Maybe this guy could fit at RT where we appear to have a hole.
I think he's going on scholarship. I'm sure they wouldn't take him if they didn't know things about turnover that we don't.
I don’t believe this to be true - My memory could be off but I believe the ncaa changed it to where transfers out now allow for additional counters that cannot carry over to another year. At least a one time thing. NCAA proposal will allow programs to replace up to seven transfers in expanded recruiting class DI Council approves one-year waiver of football scholarship limits
I thought the same thing after reading the same article - but it seems that the 85 scholarship limit still applies regardless of whether they offer leniency on class counters
