He didn't say the vaccines have damaged anything; I don't want to put words in his mouth, but it seems to me he's talking about the damage done to the trust people will put in future vaccination efforts. To this date, we still have not closed the vaccination information gap. We have some people still insisting on mandates for children to get vaccinated while at the same time, we still have pediatricians indicating that it is not necessary for healthy children. At one point, it was about the spread; now we're being told, it was never primarily about the spread but about reducing the severity of the illness (not even sure everybody seemingly on the same side of vaccine support agree on this one).

We didn't get our children vaccinated because of a mandate, we got our children vaccinated (not for COVID) based on our pediatrician's recommendations (and it was not at all similar to the timeline that was posted above).

False claims that the vaccines don't work (when it can easily be proven that they do work) is part of the problem. False claims that the vaccines aren't safe (when billions of people worldwide have been safely vaccinated) is another part of the problem. Disinformation spread by Faux News and other hacks has contributed greatly to vaccine hesitancy (and deaths due to Covid among the unvaccinated).

"The disease is less severe. It attacks differ
ently now. The newer variants have been much more upper respiratory than than deeper in lungs." This is true for Omicron during the past 5-6 months, but not during the big push to vaccinate most citizens in 2021 when thousands of people were dying every day.

"But you tell yourself these new drugs are the reason for that." I never said that. You're just making things up.

So, I'm not on this thread every day. I stick my head in, saw some of the same back and forth that's been going on for probably thousands of pages by now, and I decided to track the origin of the latest kerfuffle. I don't see where the trolling occurred. It's another example of people having unsure ideas of another's "health" status as it relates to being vulnerable to COVID, and that uncertainty leading people to re-express their views on how necessary the vaccine is. I don't think it's any more trolling to suggest that one should get it if they don't think they are in a safe risk range than it is to point out people dying as a means to suggest that everybody should get vaccinated. By now, I would hope that we would recognize that there's a wide range of perspectives on what is appropriate for each individual and their own family. Not sure how many are jumping into this thread seeking to learn a new perspective on an opposing viewpoint. I just jumped back in to see if anything new was being discussed.

No...coercing people to take a drug they do not need is the major contributor to vaccine hesitancy. Along with the reality that people see family members/friends/coworkers/etc vaccinated and boosted in many cases get sick (or the coerced person for that matter) after vaccination...the narrative is lost. This should have been focus driven with proper studies to be much farther along with therapeutics and next generation drugs. Instead we slammed along with vaccinate everyone even though we see the efficacy is not there with Delta/Omicron/BA2/name the variant.

This was a public health disaster. These officials should be tarred. Feathered. And fired from their jobs.

I highly recommend you watch the 2 hour video. It is really good. From covid to overall healthcare. I do not agree with the doctors on everything. But they do a great job to push forth the kind of thought we need to be having on the issues of healthcare and Covid.

I'm disappointed to see a drug that has likely saved people that I love being shot down. That drug saves lives. Speak against the mandates. I sure have, but the drug itself is saving lives and keeping families together. Period.

No one should be forced to take it or have their livelihood stolen over it, but this constant narrative that seems to paint it as a failure will fall hollow on those of us who have seen it work.

Look, no reason to be disappointed because we disagree. That happens.
But this is personal to many of us because we have seen it save people we love.

The disappointment is that you would want someone with a different point of view to remain silent. It has nothing to do with disagreement!

Is this more Tucker Carlson antidotal BS, with no proof of cause and effect? With millions of people being vaccinated, of course some will get sick "after vaccination". Virtually everyone I know got vaccinated. None got sick beyond some discomfort.

Billions have been safely vaccinated. Where are all the people that are sick BECAUSE they were vaccinated? Link?

Interesting stance considering your support for DeSantis who has made it his M.O. to suppress statistics, educators and Disney or else face his wrath.

But that is different, in those cases it is government hurting the right people.

Ha. No. For example, The same poster has posted the theme “coercing people to take a drug they do not need” for months and months which is flat out wrong. Weird.

DeSantis has not done anything of the sort. But keep comparing privileges to punishment…

9.8 score for the mental gymnastics.

What is it called when someone takes away privileges in response to an action?

No…you were the one trying to say DeSantis was silencing someone. He was not. I understand you may not think there should be expectations in a partnership. But when one side misrepresents the other to push a false narrative. There are going to be consequences.
