Under NIL, I'm not sure there is a fair share anymore. There might be a few guys here or there that love UF for UF, or, are a legacy who wants to carry on the tradition. But, athletes are professionals now and, for the most part, money is going to talk. Sad.
The UF fanbase may have adopted that quote too soon, sounds like the cruits are now using it to up the anty.
I doubt it makes much difference. The offers are going to come in either way. Top 300 kids are there for everyone to see. I think the bottom half of the class and pwo’s is where the early deals may be. Find serviceable kids before everyone else does and watch the prices on the top guys become more established. It’s a gamble as the nil prices could go up or down as none really knows what the payrolls are going to be.
I don’t think the prices will go down honestly. It’ll be just like the nfl. 10 years ago 25 mil/year for a qb was top pay. Now you’re looking at 45 mil/year. The super powers will stay on top. With guys like UF making runs every few years if i had to gusss
It’s just that the amount spent on payrolls hasn’t really been established. Did Tennessee overpay at 8mil for that qb or is that going to be the norm?
With no salary cap it’s hard to say. I’m sure it’s different for every “company.” How much is it worth to them? If they pay 8 mil and the guy is a bust do they keep the guy for 4 years or do they go out and pay another 8 mil next year for a top guy? Do/can they pull his NIL deal? If it’s me personally I’m throwing the majority of NIL money in the trenches and letting the rest of the team sort itself out for the most part
Actually, I think they're trying to sound clever while attempting to up the ante. Tweets don't put more money in the NIL coffers to buy these players.
If for no other reason than to get pipeline going at that high school. Gator hoops great Andrew DeClerk was a DeMatha grad.
