Who laughed about electric cars? Other than people vested in fossil fuels of course. It wasn't even his idea lol.
Many of the wall street guru's, if you watched CNBC 2-3 years ago, they were all talking about it. Many guys lost they assess shorting TSLA. If you want me to give names from multiple interviews I heard over the years I can't, I didn't log it for future reference.
It wasn't about e cars it was about him starting his own electric vehicle company. Go look it up their have been plenty of detractors over the years. Sorry, I listen mainly to CNBC and there have been many predicting him to flop.
Sad thing is you could put that as a Biden quote and it's just as believable that Biden could say that, yet some think he is great..
Most of Musk's detractors are people who find him personally obnoxious, some of those people include Tesla stakeholders who don't care for his erratic behavior that has effected their brand and stock value at times. If he didnt try to be a massively online "le epic bacon" guy, he'd be as anonymous as most CEOs are, many of whom possess even more reactionary politics. Its like if the most annoying poster to you on this board suddenly bought GC.
While that may be partly true, many well thought of wall street experts predicted he would crash and burn, that was just before the stock went from the 300's to 1200 split 4 ways and went back to 1100 again. It wasn't his personality they didn't like it was was whether he could execute or not.
The experts are probably right about Tesla in the long term, which has many problems, but being able to manipulate stock valuation and venture capitalists to keep the party going is more important in this economy than running a business effectively in terms of profitability and putting out a quality product. But he's probably worse at that than a similar anonymous person. I mean, buying Twitter has tanked Tesla stock, so again, its the erratic stuff. Leveraging your main thing to vanity purchase something that no one has been able to monetize is not going over well with people who would rather stick to making Tesla work. A guy who says we wants to save the planet spending $44 billion on something that is definitely not going to save the planet, is not gonna go over well with people who care about that either.
That is a good point. To people arguing that him putting up his stock as collateral isn't a substantial risk, Tesla stock is down 18% in the past 5 days...
Does anyone here really think that misinformation, the widespread telling of falsehoods, doesn't hurt our the country? Of course it does. Now, how to control it is another issue.
Sorry if this is a dupe ... Jacksonville Mayor, Florida CFO Pitch Elon Musk to Move Twitter HQ from California to Florida - Space Coast Daily
Okay, that is less than 18%, right? And actually, they are down by less than 11%. https://www.google.com/finance/quote/AMZN:NASDAQ?window=5D
