It is a very recent picture posted by Taylor Bigby on her Instagram account in a Gators uniform. Apparently she visited UF this past week. One can only hope there is a tie-in to Augustin's "Boom!" tweet yesterday. We should find out soon enough.
6'6. Consensus top 50 recruit 2 years ago. Averaged 11 ppg last season at Purdue but missed most of the season due to foot injury (?). Shiuld have 3 years. This is potentially a huge pickup - it has been a long time since we had a true post player.
Ra Shaya could end up being a HUGE get for us...she's a true 6'6 with a ton of potential. This is a great turn of events!
They saved their announcements for Kelly's birthday! Cute. Seriously, huge week though. We should start the season in the top 25, preseason top 5 in the SEC with this lineup, I would think. Talent at all 5 positions and pretty good depth as well.
Was just the Boom tweet showing we had something coming... nice to see what happened though. We definitely brought in more than we lost.
This is as much talent as we have had. We have continued to build the last few years, but with post play talent added in we have a real shot to be a Sweet 16/Elite 8 level team.
So by my count we are at 12 players on the roster. 13 if you count Correa who indicates on her Instagram that she is a UF athlete. I doubt you fill the remaining 2 scholarships unless you attract players that can contribute otherwise you run the risk of a crowded bench and all the possible unpleasantness that can breed. Now official for all 3:
I am a fan of always having a full roster so I'd like 2 more but 13 is enough to get it done and is where we stand.
We just received commitments from 3 transfers. All great pick ups Kirsten “KK” Deans (5-8 JR guard, Greensboro, NC) has announced her commitment to Florida; WVU's leading scorer in 2021-22, at 14.5 PPG; Leilani Correa (6-0 JR guard, Manchester, NJ) has announced her commitment to Florida; 2021-22 stats: 17.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 2.5 APG; first-team All–Big East for both 2020-21 and 2021-22 for St. Johns Ra Shaya Kyle (6-6 SO center, Marion, IN) has announced her commitment to Florida; averaged 11.0 PPG and 5.7 RPG in the first nine games of 2021-22 for Purdue before missing the rest of the season with an injury. ESPN 5 star out of HS Incredible haul, really
