Elon Musk bought Twitter so this has to be about Trump. Liberal logic on display here. Trump, Trump, Trump everything is about Trump. ""I hope Elon buys Twitter because he'll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on Truth," the former president told Fox News." Trump says he won't rejoin Twitter if Elon Musk reinstates his account TDS is still strong but everything is going to be ok.
Since there seems to be a lot of hand wringing about what Musk is going to do with Twitter. No one should have a problem with his stance.
And apparently you still have a very strong case of it, look at how upset you got at the mere mention of his name. Trump lackeys rabidly defend him more than they’d defend their own children.
Just days after Twitter banned former president Donald Trump in the wake of the Capitol insurrection, Musk wrote on Twitter that “a lot of people are going to be super unhappy with West Coast high tech as the de facto arbiter of free speech.” From the article posted in the OP. Use that genius MAGA logic and explain to me again how I randomly brought Donald Trump into this conversation.
The libs made Trump a part of the story from the get--begging the question, why??? What the hell are they (y'all?) so afraid of about Twitter and Musk, vis a vis Trump??? Very intriguing...
A sizable number of CNN and MSNBC viewers, 16.2% and 28.4%, respectively, said they will leave Twitter due to Elon Musk’s pending imprint on the social media platform, a poll by online gambling site time2play found. Logging off: will Twitter users endure Elon Musk’s takeover So based on their viewership, what are we talking 50-75 viewers?
I personally don't like Trump, but I think his being banned probably helped him in some ways. Sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder, which is one reason former presidents tend to see their popularity go up after they leave office. In addition, there is a scarcity principle that makes people crave/believe information which they think is being withheld from them. If Trump decides not to run again, it won't matter as much. But if he does, I'm not sure going back to his Twitter habits is going to be a net positive for him. Maybe he won't do that, but IMO, if he had any such discipline, there is a good chance he would have won re-election. He always seems to care more about the intensity of his core support than alienating voters who might otherwise be in play.
The logic of that argument is horrific. I post on here instead of 4chan because it has a TOS that makes discussion far better than it is on 4chan. I also don't support laws that would say 4chan can't exist. The notion that government should be the only restriction on speech is how government eventually gets in the speech regulation business.
First of all, since Musk is talking about making Twitter censor-free, you can't really ignore the example that dwarfs all others - the banning of Trump. Second, the first poster to mention Trump on this thread appears to be a conservative. So, yeah, it's just the liberals.
But this thread didn't break the story--the libby meltdown outside of this thread preceded this thread. Why? WTH about Musk taking over Twitter freaks the Left out??? All he did was insinuate that he would foster a free speech forum, and got back so much flack (from THE LEFT) about not knowing how to control misinformation, and the importance of it... Why is the Left sooooo invested in dictating what qualifies as good information vs bad??? Of course the question is actually rhetorical...we know damn well why.
If anyone can do it Musk can. They laugh at his idea about e cars, and now he rules the market. The big boys are playing catch up and are far behind.
