UF administration lives in a fantasy world, they don't believe that they need to spend on players, thinks because they are UF there will be a big line of players waiting to come in.
It's like the Simpsons bit with Homer and the peanut. Player: I care about education, networking and support with every day life. Ruiz: With money you can buy a lot of education, networking and support with every day life.
This is now the 3rd coaching staff in a row that can’t stop coming up short on recruits. Absolutely ridiculous. This administration is not serious about winning. The warning signs were there in February on Signing Day.
Preaching to the choir. We do has a certain amount of cash though. It’ll be interesting to see where it gets dropped
Well…. We have not signed shit. There’s time and no need to fret just yet but the time is approaching fast.
Not sure which is going to be worse. Paying out millions, or not paying and hearing fans whine about it.
I think that is the same line that was used for Mac and Mullen classes too. The NIL has changed things where great recruiters aren’t as influential as free cash.
We'll see if UF is going to be a player in college football or not soon enough. If Deion can $ign the #1 player last year then recent championships, loaded teams (dawgs wanna play with dawgs), top-ranked recruiting classes, tradition, etc.,. don't mean squat and it all comes down to $$. I don't think any of our top targets (Webb, McClain, AJ Harris, Mitchell, Bryant, Baxter, Kirkland, Norman, Lonergan, Simmons, etc.,.) have committed elsewhere yet, but if we don't sign a bunch of them this year then UF ain't no player anymore. CBN had big-time momentum after being hired - we signed Wilson, James, etc., brought in Corey Raymond, had several high-profile recruiting weekends loaded with visitors, and then an O&B game packed with 4/5* recruits and all we have to show for it is a 3* WR that we beat out FIU, Liberty, and North Texas for? That's sad.
I get that. We still have to give Nape a chance. He may be a complete bust. He may not. But you said it. Cash is the most influential. So if recruiting is a bust it doesn’t fall on him. Not in my eyes at least. It falls on whoever UFs daddy warbucks is. But that being said. Signing day is still 8 months away. Games are being played. Chains are being jerked. Sit back and watch how it all plays out
Interesting comments at BoT meeting last week. Talking about the problem in attracting to tier grad/doc students, low stipend, work pay, out dated housing, etc, etc. It was like listening to all the comments about football…
Just lost a major transfer to Miami in Darrell Jackson. He should have been a starter or 25 Snaps a game guy the day he set foot on campus. Big loss here as DL is what we needed.
Agreed, don’t blame the staff. They are doing their job. If they don’t have the payroll, it’s not their fault.
while i agree with what you are saying. It’s not the end of the world. If Miami wants to break the bank of him then let them. I’d rather put our NIL money to good use for building a solid foundation for the future.
