He's their Billionaire booster who's going to build them a new stadium. This deal happened yesterday and now Transfer DL Darrell Jackson who just visited UF and got a CB is in Miami on a visit and just got a CB for them. We got to start spending some money.
Technically I don’t believe he is a billionaire. Raising funds for a spac (unrelated to UM) that may or may not succeed. I’m not even sure they have the money on hand promised to this kid. Not related to this transfer but…how does it work if say a player on an NIL suffers a major injury? Say the $8 million qb committed to Tennessee or say this hoopster? Do they still get paid? UT ain’t necessarily gonna dump the kid if he tears an ACl as a freshman but say he never plays much due to injury and sits the bench for 4-5 years. The player still gets $8 million to hold a clip board? That how it works?
ahh…I thought those billions were tied into an equity investment deal and not yet his. Thanks for clarifying
You have no interest in talking about our teams, you have an interest in talking about your team. You bring nothing insightful about the Gator program, and what you do bring is usually cloaked in passive aggressive psycho babble. I already know how well Georgia is doing with regards to recruiting. I also already know our latest commitment was a 3 star on 247 and (now changed) un ranked on the composite (or are you telling me that wasn’t a not so subtle “dig” at our recruiting efforts) You have every right to post here, but please don’t pretend you’re on a mission of enlightenment. There is nothing wrong with having a strong dislike for certain rivalries. I don’t know you, so I can’t fairly like or dislike you personally, but have no interest in having a lecture on civility from a fan of a team that thinks barking in opponents faces (literally and figuratively) somehow translates into insightful conversation.
He’s been waiting 41 years to be proud. Every puppy has his day. Let him bask it it a bit. He’s not too bad.
We have to spend a minimum of $5 million on NIL every year and perhaps more. If Oklahoma and Texas already have enough for every kid go get a minimum of $40 to $50,000 per year, you can see what will be required to even compete for recruits. Do we have boosters willing to shell out $10 million each year for football only? What about other sports? If not, should we just request an Application to join the Ivy League? Seems like it will be more difficult for some teams to compete moving forward without billionaire alumni willing to help.
Always had respect for the University of Georgia and their academics. I loathe them just one day a year, loathing fsu the other 364 days. Love Atlanta. There's not a city in Florida that can touch it.
Sorry, have to defend DFFA here. He has been a long time poster and has been very respectful with anything he brings to the table. I really didn’t see anything wrong with the post. Taking the dawg identity out of it, it was pretty tame in comparison to some of our own.
Good info... CBS Sports: College football coaches eager to catch breath as transfer portal's May 1 deadline pauses roster churn. College football coaches eager to catch breath as transfer portal's May 1 deadline pauses roster churn "Because then, [once it's closed], your team is your team," Drinkwitz said. "You can get kids out of the portal by then, but you can't lose anybody else. We all thought [the big push] was going to be this week, and we haven't seen it yet. "All of us were like, 'It's going to be a mass exodus to the portal.'"
I didn’t expect universal agreement with my post, in fact it would be concerning if there was. That’s certainly ok, but I have read many of his post and I don’t find some of them respectful at all, much less “anything” he posts, but again you and DFFA don’t have to agree.
uga fans can suck it. I put them all on ignore. At the end of the day, they are here for nefarious reasons imo. Go rob a store or screw your sister or whatever the pastime in that country is.
