I suspected that was true in AZ but didn't know for sure. Georgia I know about pretty decent state except for one college football team.
and Republican Sec of State who is in charge of the election. You have to pretend really hard to believe this went on but there are those that can.
Or is it? Is it so hard to believe that Dinesh D'Souza succeeded where the Republican Party, the forensic accountants, the courts, the FBI, and every R in the election apparatus failed? (Yes, yes it is.)
People like Trump and D'Souza tell you who they are, with their words, actions, and recorded histories. Listen to them.
If you can access their forums, it is a reality for them. They can see the lawyers all over the country get sanctioned for bringing the cases and just accuse the judges— no matter who appointed them— of being liberals out to get Trump. This is how democracies die.
No. Just an opinion of what I think could be a consideration. But okay with absentee voting in the situation like I said.
the operative word is bolded and underlined. you've answered your own question. The NYT was predicting (at around 10PM on election night)-with the hundreds of thousands of metro Atlanta votes left to count (in DeKalb, Fulton,Gwinnett and Cobb counties, about 1/3 of the states 10M people)-that Biden would win GA. But sure, with R governor, R Lt governor, R secretary of state, and R majorities in the GA house and Senate, they all cheated for Biden. There's no victimhood comparable to Trump victimhood. Bunch of butt hurt malcontents who would undo the rule of law to keep MAGA in power.
538 had a terrific article in advance of the election that predicted almost exactly what would occur based upon the laws in each state. For example, Rick has called out the shift in Wisconsin before. Here is what 538, on 10/31, said would happen in Wisconsin: Milwaukee County's absentee ballots rolled in late at night (with a big boost to Biden's vote totals because it is one of the heaviest Democratic counties in the state) and the election was called on the next day. Exactly as predicted days before. Or let's look at Arizona's prediction: Again, exactly what happened. Meanwhile, on the other side, here is what they said about Florida: For a third time: exactly what happened. When To Expect Election Results In Every State It just took actually knowing something about the way the election would work. Now, the problem is that I grant most people are too busy to really research this stuff in every state. However, if you are like that, it is probably best not to then develop strong opinions that you are convinced are correct.
All of these differences is why I'd like to see uniformity. I know there's issues with so many time zones which is why I said finalized the following day but the same set of rules can be followed regardless of time zones.
The problem is that would require a pretty substantial Constitutional change (given that elections are run by state and local governments), and I am highly pessimistic that the system can be changed at all right now.
I'm most definitely not a Constitutional expert. At all. So that's definitely beyond my pay grade. Considering that times & methods have changed since the late 1700s, would it not stand to reason that at least having some general guidelines would still be appropriate? States can still say no to mail ins, or needs to be electronic not paper, etc. As far as needing extra time pretty sure that's less than what was needed 200 years ago to finalize elections. But you're right in that I don't expect agreement on something like this. Just think it would be an easy way to cause less confusion/have less of the "their methods are different so they must be cheating" mess.
Mail in voting for any reason should be the norm, and it shouldn't take a pandemic for people to accept it. By the way, you do know that until Covid it was the Pubs that used mail in voting the most? The only reason mail in voting has been demonized is because Trump KNEW the Dems were taking the virus more serious and were more likely to use mail in voting. Oh yeah, the the Orange Traitor voted by mail in.
I'm not so sure tjat a change to the Constitution would be necessary. Maybe, but it depends on the nature of the regulation and the power that Congress seeks to exercise (especially with presidential elections, but all federal elections) and whether it would pass any challenge.
Well then why do you continue to carry Lefty water? That's what your side is all about, and has been forever.
I've never paid a penny to post anywhere; don't post on "TOS". ....and I'd submit that 12,000+ posts since 2007 pretty much disqualifies me as a fly by/hit and run poster. ...and btw, I distinctly recall a solid 10 years of posting without a poster who conjures up the notion of Masengil.
At no point in America’s history has Democrat’s ever tried to overthrow the government. Your side tried it this past election.
