That's how you beat Uga...hard to run on them. That's how we beat them in 2020. They also got highly ranked Uga WR Burton.
May 1st deadline for players to notify school and entree the transfer portal to be eligible for Fall sports. Should see a lot of activity in the next week or so. Can always apply for a waiver after that date, such as a sick family member, but vast majority will enter the portal by May 1
I don't like saying this, but until we beat the likes of Alabama and Georgia they will get the best players in the transfer portal too.
True to a certain extent but we beat the puppies two years ago and they pulled the top class anyway. You know why that is though.
Because UGA had the #1 class in 2018 and #2 in 2019? Because UGA plays for (and won) Nattys? Because UGA has (had) great recruiters (Lanning, McGee, Smart, Luke, Pittman, etc.)? Because Smart can sell his success and rings at Bama? Because UGA has top flight facilities? Number of players going to the NFL? Athens is a fun town?
Always funny to see ignorance of Georgia fans... They get one natty in 40+ years and they think they are all that...
I get your point but ya have to admit, DawgFanFromAlabama is right. They had the top recruiting class in 2018 and #2 in 2019. Georgia has also done major upgrades to their facilities... facilities that we are just now beginning to play catch up. Heck, Georgia even extended the Athens Airport runways so that could fly recruits into Athens verses Hartsfield. Lastly, all of us have heard how the Poodles totally enhanced the recruit's visits (presentations, food, etc, etc.) Meanwhile, our experience last year that we offered recruits was MacDonalds...theirs' was Ruth Chris. Fortunately...that is all changing.
I don't know why so much of our fanbase is in denial over what uga has built. I don't like it either but there's no denying they've got a good thing going.
Also location. Don’t want to make this a political thread by any means, but Atlanta has transitioned to the go to city for Black rappers, entertainers and population. It is a State and area that is attractive for Black athletes. They produce and retain a lot of athletes in their home State and supplement with highly rated kids from other areas. When they miss on a recruit, not as bad due to quality depth
It’s not about denial, it’s good old fashioned loathing.. if hatred wasn’t so wasteful and damaging to one’s self, I’d couch it as that. I don’t have any problem saying FSU was the premier program of the 90’s… I loathe them also. Alabama ( who I don’t actually dislike ) has been at the pinnacle off and on for my whole life, (I do loathe the Alabama fans in the rather large pickup truck that almost forced my wife and I off I-4 after they beat us in 2009) If we’re as irrelevant as Georgia fans think and say we are, (I didn’t loathe them nearly as much when Steve’s teams were regularly kicking their Dwag behinds) why do they come to Gator sites to spout off… what we think shouldn’t matter to them… oh that’s right, they loathe us just as much as we do them.
I’ve never said the Gators are irrelevant. I like to talk football and this site has good fans, some of which can overlook color of jerseys and have insightful conversations about our teams.
