Good point. Again, I am so excited at the idea that Coach Golden will put players in the best possible place to utilize their talents.
Haha. I’m 5’10”, but I had decent bounce! I could still do a very basic dunk up until about 37-38 years old.
A complete change of topic. I only have watched 2 episodes so far of the 11th season of Curb. Absolutely hilarious.
That is impressive. I am 5’11” in my bare feet. Does that make me 6’5”? I could get my fingers on the rim but that was it. I never tried to dunk a marble. It seemed to me to be irrelevant. Did you notice in the Glover highlights that I posted a few days ago (2nd Glover reference today), the Glover steal where he then did the 2-footed jump and windmill dunk? I mean the kid’s only 5’3.”
I didn't see the dunk, but I had seen a clip of him dunking before. Kid has serious hops... way more than I ever had. My dunks were all very simple.
That’s still impressive for 5’10.” If I recall correctly, my standing vertical at Binghamton was measured at 31”. Not spastic, but not impressive. It didn’t really matter to me because I released my jump shot in the first inch or 2 of my jump.
Why it didn't happen? I think age was a factor. He played several years while in the Air Force. He may have been close to 25 when he played for the Gators.
Dan Cross was one of my students. I don’t believe he was in the military before he came here (or after). He did play in South America after he finished
were you a Chem E from around Two Egg or somewhere up that way. Some of us Env. eng guys would play against those and a kid your size would dunk.
we had no one on UF over 6’ 7” playing the 4 for us this year (unless I’m missing someone in my memory). fudge is a 4. Played it most of the year.
Impressive article. Fantastic quotes about being a Gator. VMI is tough. He's got to be thoroughly disciplined.
Had to google that term. I see it was a joke, and I get it... but actually The black community at UF was fairly small. You don't need to be cleat chasing when they are in your social circle. We used to be at the same parties, hang out at the same places, mutual friends, etc... We didn't worship them like the "fans" did. They were our friends, rivals, and in between.
We never really hero worshipped even though looking back maybe we should’ve. So many cool interactions…m buddy lived next to Wuerffel, Doering hanging out at The Swamp, Final Four basketball guys playing pickup at the Florida Gym, etc.
