Wait, so this could be construed as political payback against the 2 counties, as well? No wonder DeS is stampeding ahead without regard for the financial consequences of Orange and Osceola.

That just brings us back to our discussion about misrepresentation. Who should get to make the determination if there has been misrepresentation?

Exactly. If I were Governor, I might be tempted to violate the Establishment Clause to mandated as part of the curriculum

You still haven't said exactly what the "mischaracterization" is.

California’s edict is as stupid as DeSantis saying he wants a Cold War with Georgia if they elect a candidate who doesn’t
    salute him.

Both are idiotic, reactionary, and abhorrent.

Because the streets of Florida are like Ukraine. *eyeroll*

What you really mean is no dissent in Florida to your authoritarian desires.

I'm pretty sure one of those statements was tongue-in-check, and the other one was an edict.

You should call the State of Florida AG and suggest that they make these arguments in court when they defend why this doesn’t violate the First Amendment. Please. They might listen to you.

Oh, right. Like they are going to do this in house. Don’t kid yourself, lots of firms are going to make a lot of money on this stunt.

It is not hard to expect one to not misrepresent…

Well get ready a huge DeSantis win and more red. They are killing it in Florida and why so many are not living in misery. We certainly do have some that just have to be miserable.

Certainly it is going to be different for each person on what they think. But let’s just say…this is a winning issue for DeSantis. And a losing issue for Disney when it comes to that perception.

They aligned themselves straight up with the idea the bill was about “Don’t say Gay”. Which it is not.

Just a guess, but I would assume becuase there are children who are either are part of the LGBTQ+ community, or live in households with parents who are? Because calling people evil and trying cast demons out of them has not worked for hundreds of years so maybe embracing their differences and trying to find ways to include them as equals into society is a better choice?

Na. I’ll sit back and watch. I don’t have a dog in this fight. But I have a good bet on who will win.
