Your analogy is laughable. The Court didn't construe constitutional provisions. It construed the meaning of the authorizing statute. I characterized its interpretation of the statute as ridiculous, and it is. Come up with a better argument to justify your hypocrisy.

The difference between us is that I wouldn't justify it. I wouldn't rely on that absurd rationale. Of course, my party has rabid partisans too. They might. They'd be wrong. But they're not the ones here calling you out.

    You sure about that?

So when you say "you would be setting the precedent," are you suggesting that you would defend or not stand in the way of Democrats doing the same thing because DeSantis did it?

Also, another bit of Justice Gorsuch's concurrence:
"On the other hand, if the statutory subsection the agency cites really did endow OSHA with the power it asserts, that law would likely constitute an unconstitutional delegation of legislative authority. "

RCID is not tax exempt but it provides all municipal services for the district. Now Orange and Osceola counties will be required to provide municipal services, which they are wholly incapable of taking over.

Remember that there’s a geography issue here that Disney created to avoid the problems it had in Anaheim. RCID doesn’t just provide those services, it provides them in areas that are geographically distinct from what Orange and Osceola have historically provided.

Nope. What I'm suggesting is that there are plenty of rabid partisans on my side who think the way you do. DeSantis doing this will be used as license for them to justify a Democrat doing it. Actions like these are destructive to our democratic norms and Constitution. But as long as the rabid partisans are willing to justify it and cheer it on, we're going to continue seeing awful things like this happen.

And provided them at no direct cost to those receiving the services. Disney guests who need medical attention that can be provided on campus don't get a bill when they get home.

Assuming they violate the First Amendment, I'd be willing to represent the organization they target. This isn't a game. We aren't fans. We're citizens.

Maybe it wont stop anyone from taking a vacation, but I dont know if 3-4% will make up the fiscal supernova the county would get stuck with. It also impacts 2 counties, and Osceola certainly couldnt get by on it since most of the resorts are in Orange.

They're not doing any of the things you mentioned. What they ARE doing is punishing Disney for its protected speech opposing policies of the governor and the legislature. That's fascism.

They have the right to say what they want. And there are consequences when you misrepresent and are disingenuous with your privileges that others do not have in this case.

This is the game they are in. There are typically going to be expectations if you want special privileges.

Based on your definition of what violates and what does not violate the Constitution, yeah... that says a whole lot.

Every ruling that is politically convenient is good, every ruling that is politically inconvenient is bad, Lochneresque, ridiculous, etc.

This is not about being friendly though. It is about being disingenuous and misrepresentation.

I bet you Disney will fire people over this. They had the ability to back away from engaging with the misrepresentation. But chose not to. They provided a political opportunity for people to pounce and are on such the wrong side that I think there will be some people fired at Disney over this. Not saying there will be but I would not bet against it. Even if they are able to temper the situation going forward.

If a Governor requests these expectations 50 yrs after the fact, and the expectations involve denial of Constitutional rights, you are dealing with a fascist. Constitutional rights may be a game to fascists but not to Americans.

Yes, they are seizing their property. All of their debt now goes to Orange and Osceola to deal with. And they are keeping their corporate tax breaks that every corporation in the state gets.

More debt and tax burden for the citizens. You are for that?
