Big Gov Ron is getting shittier and more Trump like by the day. Imagine having to behave like a shit heel to pander to constituents. Sad.

California Bans State Travel To Florida And 4 Other States

"California added five more states, including Florida, to the list of places where state-funded travel is banned because of laws that discriminate against members of the LGBTQ community, the state attorney general announced Monday..."

"The five states newly added to the list have introduced bills in their legislatures this year that prevent transgender women and girls from participating in school sports consistent with their gender identity..."

Dots aren't that far apart, are they? Some will still refuse to draw the straight line to connect them. Just dumbfounded by the emotional control of the intellect. Spock was right, emotions will doom the human race.

So the party who is against taxes and identity politics, is going to tax Disney because of identity politics.

    There is pre-Trump, and post-Trump

how is this not a free speech issue when the intent is to retaliate over political $peech?

“The compelled speech doctrine sets out the principle that the government cannot force an individual or group to support certain expression. Thus, the First Amendment not only limits the government from punishing a person for his speech, it also prevents the government from punishing a person for refusing to articulate, advocate, or adhere to the government’s approved messages.”

    For the lazy and ignorant:

    Justiciability - Wikipedia

    Justiciability
concerns the limits upon legal issues over which a court can exercise its judicial authority.[1] It includes, but is not limited to, the legal concept of standing, which is used to determine if the party bringing the suit is a party appropriate to establishing whether an actual adversarial issue exists.[2] Essentially, justiciability seeks to address whether a court possesses the ability to provide adequate resolution of the dispute; where a court believes that it cannot offer such a final determination, the matter is not justiciable.

It's sad that we have educated Republicans in here defending what's clearly antithetical to the First Amendment and free speech. But it's not new. Political polarization has caused many people's principles to rot away.

Because they don't want people having information on what they're doing.

You always do this. You say it's bad and then you try to justify supporting the people who are doing it. There's always some far-flung example of a wrong that justifies Republicans' awful behavior.

It is apparent that they don't need an excuse.

A more accurate description is whether there is a bona fide dispute for a court to resolve. Standing is a different category.

If only one side thinks it's wrong, that side shouldn't be forced to fight the other with one hand tied behind their back.

Nor can the other constantly bully corporations into towing the the Party line, then cry authoritarianism when the shoe is on the other foot.

You make a political enemy out of libertarian-leaning conservatives, don't expect them them to save you when your own standards come back to bite you.

Why don’t you start threads on all of these issues as to whether they implicate the First Amendment? Because some of the things you are posting implicate different issues and we will go far off topic discussing them.
