Probably heard what CC got and said “Pay up.” Tank Bigsby did that at Auburn but ended up staying. On a personal note, I know these guys need to be compensated but all of this will ruin the Goose that lays the Golden egg. And the NCAA and Emmert are wholly incompetent, corrupt and clueless. Yeah . . . I was gonna' say basically what you did @reaves2alvarez . . . Kowacie hears about the CC deal and wants a better one now that we're at basically 1-year free agency. He (Kowacie) deserves it but I just hope he isn't getting bad advice. CC's is based on performance and Kowacie's would be based more on potential, although he did come on strong towards the end of the season.
Probably saw what CC got & decided to get paid as well. The problem is that he has potential but CC is a proven player. College athletics is becoming a sh!^ show.
I don't begrudge the kid for trying, but if he couldn't get "NIL" money based on what he did last year, what's he expecting?
Very disappointing from a fan's perspective, but it's his decision, not ours. I'll pull for guys that want to be Gators!
Perhaps he is leaving due to CC coming back? Perhaps he felt he would be the featured player next year?
