Apparently Chernobyl is not discussed nor covered in Russia. So you've got 18, 19 year old kids who have zero idea what happened there. Heck their officers are young enough that they wouldn't know. It's just a regular nuclear power plant to them.

So by censoring their education Russia basically doomed these soldiers and anyone they came into contact with, or got the supplies/looted items, to radiation sickness.

The ones that know (older, higher ups) don't care and the soldiers are just fodder.

I read somewhere that when the Russians teach history there is no mention of Chernobyl. So why would any of the soldiers know about it. If I was visiting Ukraine I would stay the hell away from that place.

It may surprise you that controlled tours of the exclusion zone were fairly popular before the war started. My state, California, had a military partnership program with Ukraine, and many of our Soldiers have deployed there since 2014. Most of the ones I’ve met have taken that tour and said it was fascinating.

"US President Biden unveils $800 million security package for Ukraine in call with Zelensky

    From CNN's Kevin Liptak

US President Joe Biden told his Ukrainian counterpart Wednesday that the US was sending an additional $800 million worth of weapons, ammunition and other security assistance.

"The Ukrainian military has used the weapons we are providing to devastating effect. As Russia prepares to intensify its attack in the Donbas region, the United States will continue to provide Ukraine with the capabilities to defend itself," Biden said in a statement.
The package will include both new types of weapons and the types of equipment the US has been providing to Ukraine for weeks.

The new equipment includes "artillery systems, artillery rounds, and armored personnel carriers," the statement from Biden read. "I have also approved the transfer of additional helicopters," he wrote."

Yes, it’s been on my bucket list for quite a while now. I’m sure all that will change going forward with the Russians disturbing the contaminated soil, etc.

In the week I spent at west point I learned that disobeying an illegal order is your duty as an officer. I don't know if anyone knew about the stupidity of staging and digging in there but an American officer ordered to dig in there might be right in disobeying.

Le Figaro is reporting, to almost no one’s surprise, that the US is directing Ukrainian military movements on the ground or at least to a significant extent.

And of course it’s been funneling weapons into the country. Indeed, much of the Ukrainian army has received training by NATO and or the CIA.

Possible chilling parallel: the US had advisors on the ground, in the sixties - and was funneling weapons into South Vietnam well in advance to sending troops into Vietnam.

We had to send troops, hundreds of thousands, simply because advisement and weapons weren’t moving the needle.

And of course we all know how that war turned out.

Tendered: Russia is our North Vietnam ...

So Saudi Arabia is not going to pump more oil to make up for the Russian boycott. If we needed any more evidence that the Saudis are not our allies and or the most morally bankrupt country on the planet, we have it now.

I think it’s light years more likely that this is Russia’s Vietnam and not ours.

You are missing some context from the last year. Saudi Arabia has a couple of good reasons to say the thing about us.

That’s clearly what the US was hoping for ... as it set a trap for itself.

This is just lazy. If we wanted to engage Russia we would do it through the air, both piloted and drones. We wouldn’t send troops in - Ukraine has enough of those. Our airpower alone would more than tip the tables.

Why that won’t work and why the US would likely be badly whipped. From roughly 27:00 mark ...
