Why are we struggling to recruit QBs all the sudden?

Are we? It seems like most of the top QB's are still uncommitted. Not having a commitment yet does not mean we are unable to get a commitment , until we get to the point we CAN'T get one I don't see how we are struggling because we didn't just take the 1st one we can convince to pop.

Like it or not, Napier’s offense is run first and he’s had Levi Lewis the past four years. Which means he really hasn’t gotten to showcase what his offense can do with a high level QB.

They are damn expensive and our budget may not be as big as some. If I were trying to compete with a limited budget, I wouldn’t spend half of it on a qb.think of Draftkings and building a roster if you’ve ever done that.

With an Nfl type qb, it may look a bit different. Mullen adapted his offense to Trask quite well.

Clemson and PSU recently received QB commits. I’m sure other programs sell their OC or QB coach on field as a benefit or differentiation factor from UF. Billy needs to be viewed like a Spurrier with an innovative offense that throws the forward pass in order to attract QBs. Clemson, Ohio State, Bama, Oklahoma (now USC) and Texas have that appeal now of a HC or OC that has put QBs in the league.

We also have to give the new Staff time. They have only been here since December or January. April now so only 4 months of relationship building. Getting a lot of visits, but starting behind those talking to these kids the last 2-3 years.

You have no idea what CBN’s offense looks like with a capable passer. It is widely known by Ragin Cajun fans that Levi Lewis was inaccurate at best and a big reason they ran the ball as much as they did.

Bear in mind that Jack Miller was recruited by almost every major school when leaving OSU and has 4 years of eligibility. Add in AR being an underclassman, 2 redshirt freshmen QB's, and a signee arriving this fall, it's a very full and very young QB room.

    Welp that’s concerning…hopefully he adjusts…

We’re UF…we shouldn’t be getting stuck with 3 star QBs

I don't believe for a second that's true. If it is, we're in good company. Neither Bama, UGA, LSU, Auburn, A&M, Ohio State, Michigan or Oregon have commitments from QBs. Most of the top rated QBs are holding off their commitments. It's good for the program to get an early commitment but not so much for the player. A QB has a lot more to consider when choosing the best place to begin their college career. If my son was a highly rated QB, I'd insist he wait until after the summer camps before committing.

Nobody wants to say it but this isn’t a strong QB class which is why these schools aren’t in a rush with taking a QB commit

Not QB friendly? Levi Lewis ended up with over 9200 yards, 74 TDs against 18 picks during his career at Louisiana. Those numbers at UF would put him in the top five all time most productive QBs. FYI, Lewis was 5'10" and a low three star prospect, barely in the top 2000 prospects in that class.

Watch clips from Louisiana last season and you'll see why Napier's offense is so much easier to run for a QB, ore running plays, more emphasis on play action, more protection in the pocket and few receivers to check off.

A nice nil deal makes a relationship real fast. Those teams signing qb’s I can guarantee have deals lined up. The system and the nil are both essential. Until we bring the cash, the greatest staff in the world can’t get it done.
Look at Aaron Rodgers, he just about guaranteed he will never win but he took the money.

Well, you said it and part of it is true. There are no obvious superstars like Trevor Lawrences or Justin Fields but plenty of very great physical specimen that will emerge with the right coaching. There are a lot of programs like UF that need to take a QB this cycle and they'll find one that's worth a ship.

I'm guessing that Manning is already there but isn't in a program that depends on him to throw for 4000 yards and 50 TDs. We're not blown away by his HUDL clips but college coaches and recruiting experts are looking at his game film with a microscope. I'd be very surprised if he didn't have a stellar career.

The more I look at Lonergan, the more impressed I am. He's piled up over 6000 yards in three years and 57 TDs against nine picks, averaging 14 yards per attempt, all that against public schools in south Georgia. He's a better runner than Vizzina and Manning and has a very quick release.
