The Kremlin plans to send 100,000 Ukrainians to Siberia and the Arctic Circle, report says, as Zelenskyy warns of 'filtration camps' for captured people Yet some here in America still support Putin. WTAF.
Chemical weapons could start a push towards UN peacekeepers. Depends whether someone is brave enough to suggest it, because if they do I could see momentum start to build.
You'd think if Russia had nothing to hide they'd push for peacekeepers to include folks from China, other allies. But we all know better. But yeah it's a joke that it hadn't even been suggested considering the situation. Or if it has it hasn't been mentioned.
Thanks. I see where there's multinational folks looking into what was used and how. This specific strike was over some residential area, I think, but unclear what the specific target was.
Time to bomb the heck out of the Russians. Hope they get those jets to the Ukranians ASAP, & other countries like Poland follow suit.
Cnn live "Morgues are full in multiple cities in the Luhansk region, official says From CNN's Tim Lister and Kostan Nechyporenko in Vasylkiv Serhii Haidai, the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, said morgues in several cities are now full amid power blackouts and — in some places — the complete loss of electricity. Haidai said on his Telegram account that bodies are also in basements in the region. In the lulls in shelling, they were being collected by volunteers and buried in "new designated places" as access to cemeteries was impossible. .... "In Severodonetsk, the regional military administration organized a new burial place in a relatively safe place. Pits are dug with a tractor and graves are systematized in the register. Every dead or deceased person is buried naturally in a separate grave, during the 48 days of the war — about 400 burials," he said. "A new burial place has also been organized in Lysychansk," Haidi added. "The dead and killed are buried in common graves." "The situation is difficult in Popasna and Rubizhne. Due to the partial occupation of cities by the Russians, the removal of bodies is impossible, burials are carried out by residents themselves in the yards of residential areas," he added. "Due to the shelling, in certain areas, the bodies remain lying on the streets," Haidi said."
Cnn live "Putin says talks with Ukraine are at a "dead end" From CNN’s Uliana Pavlova Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that peace talks with Ukraine had hit "a dead end." "Now, security requirements are one thing, and the issues of regulating relations over Crimea, Sevastopol and Donbas are taken out of the scope of these agreements. That is, we have again returned to a dead-end situation for ourselves and for all of us," he added, speaking alongside his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko at a news conference. Putin vowed that he "will not stop military operations" in Ukraine until Moscow succeeds. The Russian leader also dismissed the reports of atrocities in the Ukrainian town of Bucha as “fake” and compared them to “fake” reports about the use of chemical weapons in Syria by the Assad regime. "There were provocations in Syria, when the use of chemical weapons by the Assad government was planted. Then it turned out that it was fake, the same fake is in Bucha,” he said. " ....... Like he ever meant to negotiate.
Wondering about that old line about not negotiating with terrorists. Putin is making isis look like the jv squad.
Russian ground based air defenses make that easier said than done. Swarms of drones would seem to be more effective
Unacceptable. US arms in Iraq being sold to Putin to use against Ukraniand. This network needs to be disrupted, by whatever means. Three ships that should have been boarded, disabled, or sunk RPGs (rocket-propelled grenades) and anti-tank missiles in the possession of Hashd al-Shaabi, the most powerful Shia militia umbrella, were transported to Iran through the Salamja border crossing on 26 March, where they were received by the Iranian military and taken on to Russia by sea, said a commander of the militia branch that controls the crossing. What the Russians need in Ukraine right now is missiles. These require skill to transport as they’re fragile and explosive, but if you are committed to doing it, it’s possible,” said Yörük Işık, an Istanbul-based maritime affairs expert. “It’s also not the kind of activity that would be picked up by satellite imagery as they can be transported in large boxes and regular shipping containers.” Mohaned Hage Ali, a fellow at the Carnegie Middle East Center, said: “That kind of sophisticated weaponry [rocket launcher systems] would make a big difference on the ground in Ukraine. Ḥashd al-Shaabi controls much of the border region with Iran, which would make this transaction easier What the Russians need in Ukraine right now is missiles. Parents in Ukraine are writing their child's name and family phone numbers on their children's backs, because they think it likely they (the parents) will be killed. Name, Phone, Address: A Haunting Photo of a Child's Back Is Now a Symbol of Ukrainian Parents' Terror
And bear in mind, Russia is currently “acting on our behalf” in negotiations with the Iranians. How that passes the smell test with anyone just boggles the mind.
It doesn't & I don't understand it. If that is the case then someone needs their head examined. How could anyone think Russia, whether now or before, should be acting on our behalf?? I'd pray for better leadership but it sounds like we're going to get 2020 part 2 in 2024. And we will be worse for it. At least Biden’s helping Ukraine.
More detail on some of the mines "Anti-personnel mines have been found in Kharkiv, Ukrainian Civil Defense official tells CNN From CNN’s Nima Elbagir and Barbara Arvanitidis .... In an interview with CNN’s Nima Elbagir, Honcharuk said that the mines were scattered remotely from an Uragan multiple rocket-launch system. A cluster was found filled with 25 anti-personnel mines that were dropped in civilian areas including the main market, according to Honcharuk. When asked by CNN why Russian forces are performing airstrikes and dropping mines, Honcharuk said, “I don't really know why they are doing it, but what it does is, the mines explode by themselves and cause damage." "These elements can detonate between 3 and 40 hours later, so we have to detonate them remotely to avoid damage to [the] civilian population," he continued." ........ The scary part is that they can just go off without touching them.
