LOL! But seriously Goeltz some bobbles and an error last game so probably not a bad move. Maybe actually playing will improve her AB. Couldn't get worse.
What’s with the camera people at UF? Everyone complains, rightfully so, about the camera placement in the O’Connell Center. But what about the camera placement at the women’s softball park? Virtually every pitch in women’s softball games on TV is shown with a camera located behind the outfield fence. Right? Now look at the UF game that’s on TV right now. Like every game that's televised at the UF park, that outfield camera is placed so that every left-handed batter is partially hidden by the pitcher. What is the conceivable reason for this? What is to prevent that camera from being moved one or two feet to the right, so that all batters are fully visible? Is this a dumb question? I watched an FSU game earlier today on the ACC network. The outfield camera is placed so that all batters are fully visible. How do they do it!? I hate to think that the people who broadcast FSU games are simply more intelligent than those who broadcast UF games. So can someone give me a reason why that outfield camera can’t be moved a couple of feet to the right so that all batters are fully visible? Is there a big invisible rabbit or something in the way? Or (money being an excuse for being stuck with the O’Connell situation), can someone tell me how many thousands of dollars it would take to move that camera that’s behind the fence a couple of feet to the right?
Gator softball overcame an early 3-0 deficit against Montana Fouts and ended up beating Alabama Monday night 12-7 to improve to 31-9, 8-7 in the SEC. This was a huge win for the Gators and maybe can give them some confidence moving forward. Elizabeth Hightower gave up 3 hits and a 2-run HR in the first inning and then a walk and 2 singles in the 2nd to put Florida in a hole. But freshman Reagan Walsh hit a solo HR in the bottom of the 2nd to give the Gators their first run. Hightower held them scoreless in the 3rd and in the bottom of the inning, with 2 outs, Skylar Wallace walked, Hannah Adams singled, Charla Echols walked and Walsh delivered a 2-run single to tie the game. In the 4th, Hightower gave up a double, got 2 outs and then was relieved by Lexie Delbrey, who gave up a 2-run HR to the first batter she faced to put Bama back in the lead 5-3. But in the bottom of the inning Florida exploded for 6 runs. Sam Roe singled, Longley was hit by a pitch with 1 out and Kendra Falby singled to load the bases. Lexie Kilfoyl relived Fouts and threw a wild pitch, scoring Roe. Wallace walked to loaded the bases again and Hannah Adams singled on a play where 2 runs scored helped by an error. Echols was hit by a pitch and Jaala Torrence came in to pitch for Bama. She threw a wild pitch, allowing another run to score, then Walsh delivered an RBI sac. fly and another run scored on another wild pitch. After a scoreless 5th and Bama not scoring in the 6th, Florida got 3 more in the bottom of the inning on a double from Wallace, back-to-back singles from Adams and Echols and an RBI single from Roe. Delbrey gave up 2 runs in the top of the 7th, with Natalie Lugo getting the final out, to make the final score 12-7. Bama outhit the Gators 14-10, but UF had 2 hit batters and 4 walks and only stranded 4 base runners, while Bama stranded 10. Delbrey got the win, improving to 10-2, while Kilfoyl took the loss, being charged with 3 runs, all unearned, getting no outs. Montana Fouts had her worst outing of the year, going 3.1 innings, giving up 6 runs (5 earned), on 5 hits, 2 walks and a hit batter. Hopefully, this will be a confidence-booster as the Gators head off to Ole Miss for their next series.
Sam Roe is an incredible athlete. This girl should be going to her hs prom and winning state hs state championships for Niceville. Instead she chose to early enroll and this hs senior now leads the Florida Gators in conference BA. I fully expect that she and Lexie will be battery mates several times in CWS.

No. 9 Gators Head to Oxford for SEC Road Series Against Rebels - Florida Gators All 3 games on SEC+. Game 1 Thursday night at 7 pm. A sweep would be nice.
I was thinking about how much we are relying on the freshman of Roe, Falby, Delbrey, and Walsh right now and it kind of reminds me of 2014 when the class of Merritt, Schwarz, Fullore, Stewart, and Munro came in.
They were actually sophomores in 2014. Freshmen on that team were Chelsea Herndon, Justine McLean and Delanie Gourley.
Echols, Falby, Wallace with 2 RBI doubles. Gators lead 7-0 after 3 and a half. Echols with 2 hits which is a good sign.
Have to throw this out there. Gator Gymnastic won their semifinal meet for the NCAA championships tonight. Trinity Thomas won the All-Around and Florida advanced with Auburn from this group to meet Oklahoma and Utah for the national title Saturday. #3 Michigan, plus Missouri, Alabama and Minnesota were eliminated.
No game thread for Miss tonight? Been a good one until they scored 4 in the 6th so far. Gators are up 7-4
Don't think Walton wants to bring in Lugo. They were talking about a doubleheader tomorrow because of bad weather predicted Saturday and he might want to save her.
Right. Just for tonight's meet. They did get off to a slow start on the Vault, but came back strong after that. And when Michigan faltered on the Uneven Bars and then on the Beam it opened the door for them. They have to be a little stronger Saturday to win the title.
