Got to Gainesville yesterday for his visit, commits today. I really think we're in the Golden Era

What do y’all think? Looks like a decent 2 guard.

Sounds like a guy that for some reason wasn't heavily recruited out of HS but came on really strong at Belmont.

Does anyone know why he wasn't more heavily recruited out of HS?

I found some hs video. Pretty jump shot, seems to prefer the left side side. Right handed and uses his left well. Gets to the basket and finishes strong.

Appears to be a really good player.

We do but I still really like this pick up. Gives us a good shooter.

I like the pickup but is this guy known as a shooter? His stats don't jump out.

<<Playing in 33 games during his one season with the Bruins, Richard accounted for 12.1 points — on over 46% from the field and over 32% from beyond the arc — six rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals.>>

Not sure how taking him excludes a point guard.

Seems like a good get, but a 32% 3 point shooter doesn’t do a ton to help in that area (team shot 30.7% last year). Not sure how he is as a ball handler, but if he can help that’d be bigger than anything.

His shooting stats were as a freshman. He should improve with further coaching and experience.

Worth noting he has 3 years to play, so he isn't a 1 year rental.

Richard also ended his freshman year with a season-high total of 22 points (plus 8 rebounds, 3 blocks and a steal) against Vandy in the NIT.

If you look at his game log, Richard sorta hit a wall in January shooting but was terrific before and after that.

Richard, who stands 6’5”, 195 pounds, will aid the Gators backcourt that is already the strength of the unit heading into next season. Paired with rising sophomore and late 2021-22 season breakout star Kowacie Reeves Jr. and Niels Lane, Richard will take over as a primary ball handler.

6'5" guard - is he definitively a two? Can he play some point? Glad to get another player, but only one year at Belmont :emoji_thinking:. Found this part interesting too:
Too bad to see that Gatkek is departing. I'll leave it at that. ;)
