This one actually disappoints me. He looked like he could turn into a real player. I liked his athleticism, quick hands and length. Just don't know if he could add he weight he needs to bang with SEC forwards, but as skinny as he was, you didn't hear about any injuries last season, unlike other big guys we have and have had.
I wouldn’t have minded him coming back, but I think his upside seemed pretty limited due to his skinny frame. One of the skinniest players I’ve ever seen. So in terms of basketball, I don’t think it matters much unless Golden ends up short of bodies.
While I understand your post, I'm hesitant to agree in that with UF's S&C the young man seemed to have potential to really improve. He brought energy, defense and shot blocking with his minutes. Obviously not a great offensive threat but did have some nice put backs. I was worried the kid was strictly a practice player but he provided a spark when he played. Moot point I guess now. Moving on I am really interested in how Coach Golden utilizes the portal.
Not sure he's been mentioned but Georgia's best player Kario Oquendo is in the portal. 6'4 shooting guard averaged 15.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.2 spg, 71% ft%, but only 27.2% 3p%. Per his Twitter, he has a mascot symbol from 5 schools and 1 of them being a Gator. He would have 2 years left of eligibility I believe. I'm guessing he's spoke with Coach Golden since he has us in his top 5. Would gladly take proven scorers playing vs SEC talent. Would need to improve from 3 pt, but being on a better team I doubt he'd be taking 136 3 pointers.

Looks like a decent player. Highlights are very dunk-centric, so it's hard to tell what his actual basketball skills are. Good rim protector and runs the floor well. Seems to have a knack for being in good position to receive an alley-oop or get a put back dunk.

White was taking mid-major talent in year 1 (poached at least one player from his previous team), and he was taking the same mid-major talent in year 7. If Golden is still taking a majority of mid-major talent in year 7, then your point will be valid. We basically took 4 one year rentals last year, which puts us in the situation of having to pull in another 4+ players from the portal this year to maintain a full team. The inability of White to recruit and keep high school talent on his team led to this roster imbalance. White has left UF with a talent/player void that will be difficult to fill without taking those types of transfers. It will take 2-3 years before we see what talent Golden will be bringing in on a yearly basis. White got 7 years, so let’s see if you can give Golden the same courtesy.
