Women underway, after struggling in doubles lately they put together a very solid performance and take doubles point easily

Shelton takes a seat in singles after playing really poorly of late

 

Kessler wins 4 straight and her opponent retires
Zein collapses to lose first set and down 0-1 in 2nd
Briggs with a flurry to win 1st set, but down 0-4 in 2nd

I wondered as well....she did play doubles today, but of course that is generally less stressful. When they moved her down to 6 and she still got waxed I figured she is either mentally or physically messed up.

Shelton cruises in first set, gets waxed in second
Riffice was down then roared back to win first, was down in 2nd but eked it out
Vale was down in first but won a tiebreak, up a break in 2nd
Andrade was down a break but won 7-5, up a break in second
Goodger wins his first easily, in a 2nd set TB
Bonetto wins a tiebreak, down 0-3 in 2nd

UF will win, but this has not been a crisp focused match

Nice match by Andrade after a slow start. I'm probably nitpicking by complaining in a match they win easily....just want them peaking as we head down the stretch

 

Shelton and Bonetto both lose. Given the unbelievably close doubles point, this could have been way to tense. And Bama is a distant last place in the conference, play sloppy at AU on Sunday and you might get bit, they have been really good at home.

 

Womens season will be hugely determined by final two regular season matches......3 way battle for 3rd in the SEC with UF, Aub, USC. And that's the 2 teams UF faces. Win Sunday and UF clinches 3rd, and probably a regional host. Lose both you finish 5th and all bets are off.
