I’ll tell you, that raid was conducted by, among others, the Postal Inspector. Those guys are the real deal. I know to the uninitiated that sounds like a joke, but it’s not. Those are the last folks you want showing up at your raid because you know you’re up the creek without a paddle if they’re on you.

And people gave me crap when I said we were one of the most corrupt countries on earth. Turns out you can just lavish gifts on the secret service and defense community people and gain access to god knows what.
Wonder if we will get to hear who or how they chose their targets. This is a bad a scandal as there has been in last 10+ years. Guys I know that are former USSS are horrified but are retired and considered ‘ old school ‘
Not sure what to make of this yet. Did the SS agents know they were not real Homeland Security agents would be my first question. When I first read they providing the agents with housing, my first thought was that the houses were bugged, not that they were doing quid pro quo.
On what planet would you think taking gifts like free apartments not arranged by your employer was just normal stuff?
The Secret Service works under the Department of Homeland Security, I could see the agents being tricked into thinking the housing was part of their job assignment.
I've mentioned it before but I used to work for a Fortune 500 defense contractor. It's as corrupt and buddy buddy as local politics.
