It seems more & more Russians are coming out okay with this.whole thing. They blindly believe Putin & don't care. What few folks are against it are arrested, or have fled the country, or are keeping quiet out of fear. The more video/interviews come out from Russians the worse I feel about any chance of them overthrowing Putin.
Ha! I remember him. Here’s an ironic blast from the past. There was a 1993 novel by Dale Brown called Chains of Command that was about, of all things, a Russian reconquest of Ukraine (and I think Moldova). The U.S. President and First Lady were very clearly based on the Clintons, and the Russian President was an ultra-nationalist based on Zhirinovsky. Some elements of the book were rather prescient; others not so much. For instance, Russia as I recall did use nuclear weapons as part of its attack. The Turks came directly to Ukraine’s aid. And the U.S. did intervene to a very limited degree. On the whole, like most of Dale Brown’s work, there was a lot of Air Force propaganda: the other services look like fools, and a very small number of USAF assets and personnel are able to win the war.
Problem is the sentiment in Russia is very anti Ukraine. The russian public is not who we prefer them to be.

Anecdotally, it appears Russian citizens are for the war, and the polls we get support that, but I don't believe ANY polling done in Russia by anyone. Ain't no way people are speaking truth to power. This doesn't mean Russians are all ready to storm Red Square - it's just that we can't really know.
