We have continually imported oil. Every single year. And the pricing of oil is a global issue. The reason oil fell in price was because the Saudis we're trying to wipe out producers in countries like the US by producing a huge amount of oil. Trump actually tried to threaten them so that prices would increase. Then global demand for oil collapsed, further lowering the price. Global demand for oil is currently spiking and the Saudis are not currently willing to produce huge amounts, happier to bank profits. Perhaps you should have continued your knowledge of economics beyond 5th grade.

Newsflash! We were never energy independent under Trump. Sure, if you use a very simplified equation of net oil exported minus net oil imported, we exported more than we imported. But that alone does not equate to energy independence. Why? Because much of the oil we exported was low grade, and not anything we could use in our own refineries for energy. Newsflash #2! If you use the simplistic definition of exports minus imports, we're still energy independent under Biden! Of course, this definition is meaningless, because again, much of what we export we are unable to use for domestic energy purposes. Which is why we are still importing oil, which we were doing under Trump as well. As for Trump solving the global supply chain and inflation issues, I wouldn't trust Trump to do anything. How many failed businesses and bankruptcies? Not to mention, a failed insurrection and two impeachments. Lets not forget the failed charity that as a result, he and his family can't run any charities ever again in the New York area. Trump has no plans, and no ideas. Never has. Still waiting for his magical healthcare plan. He'll have it out in two weeks, right?
His whole platform was building a wall and being bigoted towards immigrants, and he never did even come close to delivering his wall that wouldn’t have made a difference, anyways.
