At this point, I'm not sure there's a level of Russian incompetence that would surprise me.

All my surprisededness is all used up.

We don’t really know who hit that. What we can say is that the aid coming in has been making a difference. If you can see the videos, I am curious about your professional assessment of the execution. Because the helicopters had to be high enough when they launched.

I think they're referring to planes/longer range missiles

"Ukrainian photojournalist killed by Russian forces, according to Ukraine attorney general's office

From Mariya Knight in Atlanta, Amy Cassidy in London and Eliza Mackintosh in Lviv

A Ukrainian photojournalist who worked for a number of major Western news outlets including Reuters and the BBC has been killed by Russian forces near Kyiv, the office of Ukraine’s attorney general said Saturday.

The body of Maksym (Maks) Levin – who had been capturing the ongoing conflict – was found with two gunshot wounds in the Vyshgorod district which sits just north of the capital, the attorney general’s office said in a Facebook post, citing preliminary reports.

“According to the preliminary information, the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces killed the unarmed Maksym Levin with two gunshots,” it claimed. His next of kin have been informed, the office told CNN. "

Russians objecting to anything that might help Ukraine win but no problems stashing nukes in Belarus? Send them anyways, & get them planes finally

"British high-precision weapons in Ukraine would be "legitimate targets," Russian ambassador to the UK says

From CNN's Radina Gigova in Atlanta

If Britain delivers long-range artillery weapons and anti-ship systems to Ukraine, they would be "legitimate targets" for Russian forces, Russian ambassador to the United Kingdom Andrei Kelin told Russian state news agency TASS in an interview published on Saturday.

“Any weapon deliveries are destabilizing, especially the ones mentioned by (Ben) Wallace (the British Defense Secretary)," said Kelin, according to TASS. "They exacerbate the situation and make it bloodier."

"Apparently, these are new, rather high-precision weapons. Of course, they will be legitimate targets for our armed forces if they cross the border of Ukraine."

“I have a feeling that London’s idea of what is happening in Ukraine militarily is formed on the basis of the bravado reports of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the Ukrainian leadership," Kelin said."

Interesting article. Although indirectly it says quite a bit about the competence of the Ukrainian resistance. It also illustrates that not all of the Russian losses can be attributable to poorly led, poorly trained and poorly motivated conscripts.

I see what you mean. In the replies some were discussing planes. I don't know that cruise missiles have been sent. Just drones. Sorry for the confusion but yes drones have been sent :)

Is anyone else puzzled by the concern that, maybe, Ukrainian helicopters blew up a fuel depot inside Russian territory? Seems like a legitimate military target.

It is a legitimate target but escalates the situation and can be used as justification for Russia to walk away from negotiations

Fine with me. The only acceptable end state is Russia fully out of Ukraine, including Crimea. Negotiations at this point won’t result in that. Russia needs to do significantly more losing before any talking.

Heartrending tweets from a 16-year old girl in Mariupol. It really does sound like hell on earth in that city. Ukraine must win this and Russia(Putin) must be held accountable
