There could be many reasons. Low NBA feedback. Likes the new coaches. Likes the new philosophy. Likes being a Gator. Likes that his folks can drive two hours to see every home game. Thinks he can develop new aspects. Can make big NIL money (this could rival or even exceed foreign pro leagues). That said, I expect he gets drafted and leaves. But you never know.
CC will be back. Going to be 15-20 lbs bigger with a hook shot, and 12-15 foot shot. Reeves and Lane will both be good. JJ was looking better when hurt, Gerkek won't start but will help. Look for the Gators to be a surprise team, Elite 8 at worst. Then my dog woke me up so not sure how we finished. Go Gators
To me there is only one good reason for coming back and that is because he enjoys the college experience and he wants to help get the Golden program started in a really good way. I realize he is very limited in his official audition to the NBA but he has plenty of tape against some quality competition. I see him being undrafted but can get a G-league contract with an eventual two-way contract. That to me (besides playing oversees) is his ceiling.
I agree. He doesn't shoot the ball well from 3 (24% this past year). He did average 4.8 apg, but also averaged 3.2 TO's per game. If a pg isn't going to shoot it well from deep, better have a great assist/TO ratio imo.
Every LSU player is now in the portal, going pro or decommitted. Wow! Zero scholarship players for the new coach.
As an Ohio alumnus, Bobcat fan and obvious Gator fan I highly recommend Mark Sears. He may only be 6’1” but his dribbling, shooting, passing and willingness to rebound is outstanding. He needs to not be the main attraction because he will put unnecessary pressure on himself and force things. He had the luxury of watching Jason Preston do it the year before but Preston was on another level which is why he’s now in the NBA. Coach Boals is most likely going to be the next coach at Butler so it makes sense on a few levels for him to transfer. Guy in the know says Sears is definitely going to pick a school in the south since he’s an Alabama guy.
I love CC, plays so hard and is a great college player for sure. But with his build, no way he makes an NBA roster unless he develops an outside shot, maybe he can get that with one more year?
i cannot verify but I also heard he is or will be having shoulder surgery soon. This surgery will not allow him to participate in any pre draft camps or team workouts which could hinder his draft chances.
Interesting tampa.............. well I hope he comes back to UF although I'm sure a reasonably lucrative overseas contract awaits somewhere. Sure would be nice seeing him in O&B one more time. I know CC had a little "attitude" but I really enjoyed his game. Be a "Golden" coo for Coach, IMO.
