After reading up on them a little, both Carter and Richard sound like guys that will do well at the high-major level.

He should fit in comfortably with Coach Hovde's offense :)

we seem to be of interest to a lot of players. Now, we need to sign some of them. This seems like the show Paladin: fast gun for hire. You basically buy a team. But, I guess it makes the coach more important because he has to make it work.

My guess is that Golden does not go after any USF players. When the program gets turned over to your top assistant, you probably shouldn't be stripping the program bare on your way out the door.

Bates would be a beast. He was first team all-acc defensive team as a junior at NC State. Set a bunch of shot blocking records there. Not flashy offensively, but solid around the basket. If CC were to stay, a lineup with him and Bates together could be dominant. However, it would leave us with fewer than 4 guys on the floor that can handle the ball and shoot threes :)

Of all those schools listed which one is the most like Princeton except with better weather.

Loading up a team with a lot of portal players is like loading up a team with a lot of less talented but more experienced one-and-dones. It prevents installing any complicated offense because that takes at least two years to learn unless these players come from a similar system. The fact that we might be getting a Princeton (Carril) stye offense is OK because that is not terribly complicated unlike a triangle offense or BD's ball screen action offense, but it does require buy-in from players to be team first.

My apologies. I didn’t realize that Napier was also coaching the basketball team.
