Agree. Even many of the reactions on this thread are bizarre, from my perspective. On another note, I don't think anyone has brought this up. As much or more than the slap, I find WS's uninvited entrance to the stage unethical or worse. There's much wrong with the whole scenario, but performers should ALWAYS respect the stage, treating it as hallowed ground. The joke in poor taste does not excuse WS's ethical breach. OTOH, I will not suggest a form of punishment; just not inclined to.
Denzel has never won nor ever been nominated for a BAFTA. Not even once NOMINATED. It’s absolutely INSANE
Kareem is typically brilliant, humane and thoughtful Slapping Chris Rock was also a blow to men, women, the entertainment industry, and the Black community. Will Smith Did a Bad, Bad Thing
that is just bizarre. Looking at their recent nominees they seem pretty diverse so that doesn’t seem to be the issue. Is there something about his style or film choices that doesn’t translate? Does he not do enough press over there and they punish him for it?
Kareem absolutely nailed it from start to finish....perfectly done. I found his point re the Jaden tweet particularly striking.
I like him, but I could understand if people think he overdoes the characters sometimes - like in Training Day. I thought he was particularly great in movies that probably aren't talked about as much: Book of Eli Equalizer Flight Man on Fire Fallen
