Incredibly talented player, but has to be “the guy”, imo. I’d be interested to see how he does if surrounded by talent. I’m not sure…
He never struck me as "me-first" type. A lot of times, guys we think are selfish, shot-happy players are that way because their coaches asked them to take on that role. The coaches need the points generated and they know they have a lack of scorers.
There is a ton of talent in the portal. I think I read last night, during the Gator baseball game, UK lost 3 of its top guys to the portal. Mizzou’s best player. The list goes on. I think, if he is indeed the right guy, and so far all I’ve seen gives me hope, Golden can fix this sooner rather than later. I’m hopeful and will be really interested to see what happens. I have to admit, though I like MW, this feeling of excitement is a lot more fun than being on the bubble constantly with a miserable offense and praying we beat whoever just to stay in the conversation. i think a new start was important for both sides. Golden would not have been my selection, but has has said all the right things so far. And I am on board!!
Has our new coach Golden even hired any assistants yet? This happened so quick, Golden didn’t have time to even think about staff and recruiting/transfer portal. Seems like a slow start. Hope we start getting news about these items soon.
