We're going to get a Duke/UNC matchup in the final 4 aren't we?

I don't usually think games are fixed, but man something stinks about this tournament and giving coach k a send off.

 

Duke has always been treated by the press as above reproach. A program that always does it the "right way". When in fact Coach K has been "stretching" the NCAA recruiting rules for years. Yes he is a sanctimonious individual phony. As it is sometimes said in sports by the home town fans, "yes coach is an asshole,but he is OUR asshole. Glad to see him and his sanctimonious fans fade from the front pages if collegiate basketball.

 

Another one of the protected blue bloods for many years by the NCAA...untouchable like a mafia don

 

The sooner it happens, the better.

haha those were the exact two words i thought of when i saw the thread title. I concur - good riddance. Such a fraud.

 

Zero point zero impact on me. Won't be missed. Whiny little B!tch always crying to the refs and always gets the calls. And his players trip people and sometimes stomp on their chests.

 

Coach K almost certainly is one of the 2 best college coaches in the history of the game, along with John Wooden.

 

Duke Law grad here. K is to Duke what Spurrier is to UF.

Agree with Lurker. They're nothing alike, Spurrier did it the right way.

 

Their similarity is they hate losing more than they like winning.

 

ESPN has many former Duke basketball players on TV working for them. So yes, they promote this holier than thou, nothing ever. Nothing said about Kylie Irving taking money from agents most likely while playing and Zion, players being directed by handlers to Duke and they always play up down on Tobacco Road, which the Gators have Tobacco farms around too. But it signals to all college basketball fans that Duke and UNC are elite. Both have cheated to get where they are, but no one will report it.

 

Dont really care either way. He is a prime example tho of the sports media (not just ESPN) picking the good guys and bad guys in coaching. Not just basketball.
