Lol! Urban embarrassed the Jaguars? Seems they were already very much an embarrassment before he got there--pole position for Trevor Lawrence bears witness to this (I'll keep mum about Jville, since I like the city).
But he won twice as many as Jimmy Johnson did in his first year. NB: JJ went on to win 3 Lombardi's. Btw, your avatar suits you well.
Im going to go with Miami. Cristobal is a great recruiter, but not a great coach. He'll build Miami back, like Butch davis (and Ron Zook/UF) did, but he wont be able to close the deal. Enter Urbs, a few years removed from his fall from grace, and he'll be itching to get back in the game. (Was going to say UGA for same reasons, but Meyer won't want anything to do with the SEC.)
I am sure the owner and rest of the organization are going to start winning now because I am certain that Urban is the one keeping the Jags from being successful.
Who predicted that the architects of two nattys for UF would have been fired within weeks of each other
Meyer doesn't have to hire a lawyer on a contingent fee basis. I don't understand why you think that. Plenty of lawyers will work this case on an hourly basis; it will be a high hourly rate if he hires a good attorney, but still not a percentage of what he gets. I could be surprised, but I seriously doubt there is a lot of time expended by attorneys. There will be some initial sabre rattling after which Meyer and Khan will strike a deal.
Most of ours revealed their character during there time here. Some, like the tight end, looked like thugs and blossomed after they left, But 31 arrests during one season has got to tell you something about the type of player Meyer was recruiting. We can't control what a player does after he leaves here but we can set a standard that will try to weed out the obvious miscreants. I want to win just as much as any Gator fan except that I want to be proud of the team and not have to apologize for what kind of people they are.
I think the point is a large percentage of the arrests that lead to Meyer's reputation of criminality were stupid BS that doesn't get enforced at other campuses except maybe UGA.
It wasn’t his girlfriend, it was a woman who was in a different vehicle. While he is guilty and caused a terrible loss of life, I wouldn’t describe him as a thug based off of this. I know plenty of otherwise respectable citizens in the business world who hit the bar then take chances driving home. To me, Ruggs is a young man who made a very unfortunate decision that cost an innocent woman to die in a horrible way, and he will pay a huge price for what he did. Let’s not make him out to be a thug. I think that implies a lifestyle of violent crime.
How long before the Nole dunces are tracking the FSU plane to Urban Meyers house....I hear they are tired of 5 win seasons under Bob Stoops.
If Florida still grovels around the 6-7 win level for a couple years (or worse), I would think most Gator fans would grovel for Meyer to return. Winning overcomes everything else, and at least at the collegiate level, Meyer is flat PROVEN.
'The most toxic environment I’ve ever been a part of': Inside Urban Meyer's disastrous year with Jaguars
Wow, what a read! Urban comes across as a top-shelf prick. Has anyone spotted him recently? I take it they’ve probably vacated their house in Jax and slinked back to Oh-hi-o to hideout.
