Agreed, however, I see us having one surpise win, and one surprise loss and continuity, depth and S&C wont fully be resolved until mid to late season. Which should have an impact. People will bash me, but I would be very happy with 7-5 as long as the question marks are disappearing at a steady rate and the recruiting is foundationally solid.
7-5 is ok if it’s a 7-5 season where we beat who we were “suppose” to beat and lose to folks we were expected to lose to.
I'm re-shooting my shot. After learning more about NIL, watching this staff recruit, seeing the reactions from the elite prospects, and then moving the O&B game to a Thursday night to get more prospects on campus ... top five! If we get a big name QB to commit before the season starts (Manning, Moore or Vizzina) ... we could slide into the top three. I do not think our class depends on us outbidding our rivals either. That is just an excuse disgruntled fans use. We have a lot to offer these players and this staff is committed to making sure they tell every prospect about it.
If Mullen could finish in the top 20 (EVER) with no effort and his personality I don't see any reason CBN with his effort and approach cant finish #1.
We must be in the top 5 to begin competing with Georgia. That said, we will. Napier means business. Watch things unfold. Those that are predicting 15-20 haven’t been paying attention.
I’m basing my outlook on dollars. I’d say we will be lucky to be top 5. 6-15, I think those payrolls will be the second tier and that’s where we will find ourselves.
I'm thinking ninth or tenth but I believe the kids we sign will fit better together, compliment each as teammates and be more successful down the line than many of the teams whose classes rank above the Gators '23 class.
