I thought Tennessee had a tournament built team this year, guess not. Memphis leading Gonzaga by ten at half, surprise!
The tournament happened. There are a lot of good basketball programs across the nation (that means outside the SEC). Different officials, coaching, venues and players.
Both Mike White and Rick Barnes started coaching in the SEC in 2015. During that time they each have four Tournament appearances (although White’s Gators were a lock when Covid cancelled the 2020 Tournament and UT finished 17-14 that year and would have been playing in the NIT). White has six NCAA wins and an Elite 8 while Barnes has four with a best finish being a Sweet 16 appearance.
2 for 18 might be on the coach, and it might not be on the coach. If you can’t figure out why, I can come back and explain.
Barnes is a quieter version of Cal, a bunch of talent and nothing to show for it. Okay, Cal won one NC.
Did not care one way or the other about Tenn but wanted to see Auburn and LSU go down. One out and one to go. It is a shame I can't pull for all the SEC teams because teams like Auburn and LSU are cheaters.
It’s almost like most good coaches and teams don’t usually make deep NCAAT runs. It’s almost like favored teams routinely get ousted before they should on a regular basis. It’s almost like we told you that Mike White was performing like most good programs.
They are a 36% 3 point shooting team on the season. I don’t think 2-18 is on the coach unless he told them to miss shots. Teams have bad shooting nights. It happens.
I probably should of clarified by saying less dominate teams that go on a conference tournament run typically fade quickly in the ncaa tournament. I don't think the same logic applies to dominate teams that are expected to win their conference tournaments. Iowa, Tennessee, Va Tech were all getting a lot of love prior to the tournament and they all got beat opening weekend. I guess my point was unexpected hot conference tournament runs do not TYPICALLY mean NCAA tournament success
Chandler seemed to have it going but then turned down some open looks at the end and I think they had two crazy plays turn it around.... when they just missed getting the shot off before the violation for a bucket and the Michigan running hook shot. Amazing how many strange things happen in the tourney games.
Very funny. Also, how is Howard coaching this season? Any executive who punched someone would be put on long term leave or fired. Aren’t coaches supposed to set the example. NCAA and Michigan are toothless.
