Good: now Gator fans can stop calling someone completely invisible in our community a “good guy” because some reporters liked his access

Bad: Georgia wins overall with 96% toward Football and Mike White making due with 3%

Of the top 25 ranked teams, which ones are running dirty programs? Is it a majority? Is that a criterion in order to have a top 25 team once in 7 years at the end of the season? Did Billy run a dirty program? And if not, clearly there are no brownie points for doing so if it does not translate to a modicum of success.

A "one of 6 teams to win an NCAA game in the last 4 years" tribute is so misleading.

In that you could have a team that won a national championship year one, was in the Final 4 year 2, Sweet Sixteen year three, and lost in the first round in year four.

Would you say Mike White's having gotten his team to win one game in the last 4 tournaments is a better accomplishment?

Billy was flirting with leaving Florida long before he did, and was frustrated with the cheating (pre NIL) that caused him to lose a lot of recruits that had actually committed to him verbally.

It is not surprising that a person who went to Western Kentucky, a complete nonfactor in basketball (which probably enamored you to the University of Kentucky- didn't you work in Lexington for several years) would suggest that it was somehow Florida fans' fault for seeing a program that rivaled Kentucky's get reduced to the rubble that it is now in the aftermath of Mike White.

What self-respecting Florida adversary would not want White to stay at the helm and play 6'2" guards against 6'9" toward forwards in the SEC?

His quitting was the most dignified thing he did IMO because it eliminated the buyout of his contract. Can you imagine essentially paying a CEO a bonus for almost bankrupting the company? That is what we would have been doing had we had to pay this guy to leave.

He had an eye for talent but wasted the talent because he did not complement players well and was not capable of developing talent.

The point remains that he could have quit after the season, not during it, and the buyout would have still been addressed.

I'm not gonna question his character but you bring up a question I've been wanting to ask which is how active was White in the community? Did he reach out to students? Was he visible much?

You are absolutely right, but that is not on him. That is on bush league Georgia who probably gave him a "blue light special" take it now or leave it just to try to throw our program into disarray. Where was he going to get another Division 1 coaching job in a power conference? NOWHERE!!!! So they offered him and told him to take it now or we are moving on.

It was an easy play because I am sure they pointed out how detested he was here at Florida. You don't have to learn under the great coaches that playing 6'2" guards on power forwards is a prescription for disaster.

Good: did everything by the book and was a good ambassador.

Bad: couldn’t come close to recruiting and developing big men the way Billy Donovan did.
