I'm sorry to have to report that long time moderator Hallgator has passed away.

Obituary for Lonnie Wayne Hall | Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home

Hall was the moderator who asked me to be a mod years ago and taught me the ropes so to speak. He was another person on this site who I never met in person but talked to numerous times and considered him a true friend. He will be missed.

Just no words. He thought he was improving and then there was nothing for days. So sad to hear this.

    He loved Gator hoops.

    Prayers for his family.

RIP. Always surprises me when the death of someone you've never met can impact you. Was a good dude and a loyal Gator.

Very sad. He always struck me as one of the most fair, level headed and nonpartisan people around here. RIP.

Holy crap. Knew he had health issues, but didn't realize it was anything close to this. A great guy and a stabilizing presence on Too Hot, which he obviously cared a great deal about.

    Damn.

    RIP Wayne

RIP Hall. Weirdly, we feuded more over basketball than anything on Too Hot, but he was always a good dude even when we were. I always enjoyed talking to him. He will be missed by this board and by me.

A sad loss, both for Wayne's family and his Gator Country family. I will miss him and the solid points he could interject into discussions on this forum. He was a fair man, a generous man, a man with vision, and an open heart and mind. In the past few years he has had some rough stretches with his health. May his spirit find the peace, solace and mooring he envisioned and expected. Via con Dios, Wayne Hall.

Lonnie Wayne Hall, 71, of Lake City, Florida passed away March 11, 2022, at NFRH in Gainesville, Fl after an extended illness. Wayne (as he was called) was born to the late J Lonnie & Lota Mae Smith Hall in Lake City, Fl on May 5, 1950. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1968 and was proud to be a Lake City Tiger. He was a jack of all trades and could do just about anything. Many a day you could find him under the hood of a vehicle teaching his son Ryan how to mechanic or having long conversations with his daughter Danielle about life. For most of his life he worked in insurance sales and in restaurant managerial services. He was an avid Gator fan and was in front of the TV watching every game; he was also a chess player and enjoyed many an evening playing games on the internet. He loved going to the mountains with his parents and siblings and treasured those times. He was loved by all his family and will be sorely missed.
