I am an alumnus. Undergraduate and graduate. I am not going to say I hate this school or that school just because some of you do. That's fine if you do, but you are not a bigger fan than I am because you have hate for other schools. I want us to be better in sports and academics than any of our rivals. That doesn't mean I have to hate them like you do.

No, I do not see it in the pro sports model, I am an avid fan. I don't miss a game even when I was deployed to Afghanistan, Africa, Europe, etc... I'm staying up to watch my Gators on whatever connection I can find. I'm also no casual fan, as you know from my posting here.

I’m not going to get into a fan measuring contest either. You can certainly root and be as passionate as you want.

Out of the UF sports fans that I know the vast majority hold hatred for certain schools. By hatred I’m talking in the sports sense, we want them to fail at every opportunity. So at least my experience is you are in the minority, but that’s fine.

The reality is many UF fans hope White wins 0 games.

If he went to Ole Miss or to a school like Illinois (like Zook) we’d wish him all the success. In fact I’d generally root for him.

That's cool, just don't start getting on your soapbox talking about you have an "alumni" perspective and I have a "casual" perspective. I also know a lot of alumni from our school and other schools. I can't think of any that "hate" other schools. I typically only see it at forums. It's only a segment of the sports fans who do that. I don't need to hate other schools to love my school.

I know plenty of alumni that hate this school and that in sports. But UF fans arent just alumni either, you have to look at it from both angles. Do you fervently support all UF sports or you mainly at Basketball guy? I have been going to every sport on campus since the 80s. I dont know much about soccer, tennis or lacross, but I try to go to at least 2 or 3 games or matches per year. I hit womens basketball, volleyball, track..if we had water polo I would be there. Swimming, yes sir, and whatever UGA sports they play we cant stand them period.

I'm not the one who introduced alumni vs non-alumni into the conversation, so don't ask me to look at it from both angles. I am already aware of the different angles, and I was merely responding to someone who assumed I wasn't alumni since I don't hate other schools. And yes, I watch the other sports. Mainly football and basketball, plus occasionally track and gymnastics.

Now... do I like Georgia? No. Do I like Bama? No. I don't hate them, though.

If he thinks all the fans at Georgia will idly sit on their hands while the team loses games, he will be in for a rude awakening. Fans are the same everywhere in this day and age.

I am sure that is true, and I could probably say similar. But the vast majority of that vast majority are likely football-first fans.
It’s no secret that I’m a hoops guy. . . and uga just doesn’t register much with me, unless it’s a game in late October.

Obviously, for two games a year I hope he loses very badly. When he plays Kentucky I hope they thump them. I wish Coach the best at his new job.

MW did not achieve what all Gator fans expected but is a good man and operated under less than stellar conditions. Primarily he lost Johnson then he had a guy transfer to Gonzaga. Then he lost Castleton and a few other guys were injured all of which hampered the ability to win. I hate the negativeness of some Gator fans (see above) who are probably too young to remember the way it was before Billy D. I hope everyone who is negative can be successful and have support when they need it,

The reason that guy transferred to Gonzaga is that Mike White didn’t/couldn’t run an offense that fit the strengths of Nebhardt. Everyone thought Nebhardt at PG was limiting the offense, but it has turned out that wasn’t necessarily the case.

Chase Johnson may have had bad luck due to his concussion issues, but he weighed 205 lbs and was having to bang with larger players because he was playing as a power forward instead of a stretch forward.

Players transferred out of Florida for a reason…. that stuff doesn’t happen in a vacuum.

And the state of Florida basketball is far superior now than it was in the 70-80s. Florida is legitimately an everything school. Kruger had more success than White. You have to go back like 35 years to be content with White level performance

We shall see if CMW moving on to UGA turns out good or not, for the fortunes of UF basketball.

But it disturbs me that people are still taking shots, it's not warranted, he was a class act, those that wanted him gone had that wish granted, MOVE ON.

Does a class act leave his team before the end of the season? He may be a great guy, but that doesn’t make him beyond reproach.
