No, but we've collectively ruled out some "obscure" candidates :D

The pool of acceptable candidates will quickly start dwindling as teams lose in the tourneyso_O

he left drake after 1 year. Dude ain’t afraid to ruffle some feathers and bolt.

But he’s turned around 2 programs, plays a fun style and his team is 21st nationally in offensive efficiency. I only had to watch three possessions (literally) to know he gets it on that end, looked up that stat to confirm.

    add in;
-Coached in the conference as a HC

    - Coached at another power 5 school
-Asst Coach during our most successful tenure
    - Asst NBA coaching and development experience
    - Grew up in South Fl, knows the landscape
    - current coach at a good mid-major program
    - still relatively young
    - if hired, more likely to stay if he achieves success
    - based on some of the above, should help make it a smoother transition

    Lots of positives

I don't know. It isn't like football where season ending injuries happen all over the place. Guy's get injured, sure, but losing your starting center for is generally a big hit to take in basketball. Would our '14 team still have been great if Patrick Young went out for the season? I think not.

Interestingly when Egbunu went down we actually rallied to the elite 8 that year. So I never thought that "derailed our program" anyway. It could have, but that year's team actually rallied while short handed. It's not even clear he would have come back the following year anyway, if not for his injury. White's problem was his recruits never seemed to work out for whatever reason - case on point Isiaah Stokes and Chase Johnson were the "bigs" brought in the year after Egbunu went down. They contributed exactly nothing.

Looking like Sean Miller might be headed to South Carolina…. Definitely not a done deal yet.

I think people who lament the Egbunu loss underestimate how good Hayes was in his senior year.

Post presence? No. All-conference defensive player? Yes.

    Hayes is the better pro.

Would we hire Calipari if he is fired? Over on the Kentucky boards the entire first page threads are calling for his firing...

Chase Johnson was a 205 lb freshman playing power forward against players 30+ lbs heavier. He should not have been playing at power forward until he bulked up.
