Man can recruit, just wish he was a head coach for 3 more years and got an opportunity at another mid major first before we hire him
This is why this ain’t happening, even with this endorsement from one of his players. UF just parted ways with the guy he was a long time assistant for, and Mincey himself has only been a head coach for 1 year. It’s one step away from elevating an assistant from interim coach to head coach. You can do that if you are replacing a legend with a coaching tree, it makes sense to stay in that coaching tree and hope for continuity. Can’t really do that if you fired a coach or mutually parted ways, it doesn’t make sense. Mincey probably needs a couple years under his belt and perhaps another stepping stone job before the SEC or another power conference come calling.
Mincey would at the very least guarantee that we keep a talented roster. And I believe he won his conference regular season title. There wouldn't have to be a total rebuild. There's some positives here.
Nope!!! I will not let you do that!!! Spill the beans because Im hitting F5 at a rapid rate and today is my 40th birthday btw. Lol..Yes Gator basketball is that serious
Nothing ventured, nothing gained...unless dumb luck deals you a good hand. I'm betting on a mid-major hire that's headed upward.
hard no thanks to coach Mincy - even if we end up going the mid-major route again, he's still too wet behind the ears to be a serious candidate.
I only remember "Cardinal Bellarmine's Letter to Foscarini" circa 1615, from one of my history of science classes at UF many years ago. Crazy how it's been decades since I read it and it immediately popped into my mind when I saw Bellarmine.
Bellarmine is a strange name but a very good basketball team Mincey is a hell of a recruiter. He brought the big names to campus not CMW. That is why Tre sent the shout out
this is partially true, as Mincy was lead recruiter and excellent in the role. still- a large part of a kids decision is the head coach.
