SEC got 6 bids while Big10 got 9 bids Texas A &M was clearly stronger than both Michigan and Rutgers Tennessee shouldn't be on the same line as Purdue. I know the committee doesn't have much flexibility on Sunday, but they could have swapped the Vols with either Kentucky or Auburn. 2022 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings
The Aggies deserved to be in period, that was a screw job by the Committee, if anything they could have held LSU out because of all those transgressions done by the coaching staff
If they didn't get in after that run in the SEC tournamet then I don't think Florida could have gotten in with less than winning the tournament.
Wait . . . Texas A&M didn't get in? Holy shnikeez it's almost as if the committee didn't even watch their games. Or maybe they only watched the TN game. Apparently the Vols got under-seeded too. I haven't looked at a bracket yet, still suffering the Gator hangover.
MEH. Gators not in, I don't care. Never an Aggie fan anyway. Sucks LSU is allowed to play. Won't be watching, but hope theyre bounced in gm 1
The Big-10 always over-rated in virtually all sports. Payback for the SEC snagging UTex and Okie in Foosball?
That's about it in a nutshell. I wouldn't mind seeing play-ins for all at-large bids as well. It would settle the arguement about who got robbed.
A part of me blames the folks in Birmingham. That should have been working the back channels to be sure the conference got a fair shake . They darn sure do it for football.
Upon further review. Tex AM started 15-2 with one real win...Notre Dame. Org St is so bad I think they didnt even get 10 wins this yr. Then they had a 1-9 streak in SEC. Finished the season 8-9. That = 23-11. I can see a Committee looking at Tex AM and saying hey of the 23 discard the early crap games and what do we have? Not much.
Good points, but Notre Dame got in over A&M, despite the head-to-head loss. Looking at ND and Rutgers in particular . . . Team..........w/L............Massey.......Kenpom A&M.............23-12.........43...............43 Notre Dame...22-10.........51...............52 Rutgers.........18-13.........50...............74 A&M should have gotten in ahead of either of these teams.
Michigan has no business being in at all and then they Colo. State first game??? 17 wins should never get you in the tourney and somehow they drew a very beatable team.
Alabama got a 6 seed with a 19-13 record. I say that to emphasize that overall record is just one of many criteria the committee uses and is mostly meaningless when comparing teams.
