Gonna be tight in both matches, lot of back and forth Men winning would give a 2 match cushion over UT with lot of the tough matched behind them Women almost need a win to stay in the conversation to host regional....sad
Looks like UT men are missing one of their top players, but regardless a nice win on the road. Women appear headed to victory also, but yeah, not setting the world on fire, that's for sure.
Vale just clinched it for UF with a dominant 3rd.....looks like Andrade was going to lose in 3 and Siimar was up in his 3rd. Bonetto lost a very tight match, Riffice won in 2 and Shelton in 3
Kessler wins a tough tough match Dudney at 2-2 in 3rd Zein with an easy straight set win Briggs got boat raced, been disappointing Shelton won a first set tiebreak, 3-3 in 2nd Dahlstrom up 4-1 in 3rd....need her to close it out for the win
I loved the video feed. Tennessee has a fantastic indoor facility. It looks brand new. Shelton and Raffice played great. What a luxury to have two of the top 5 players at the top of the lineup! Go Gators!
Dahlstrom puts the hammer down in her last 2 sets for the W. Dudney also playing well and up a break in 3rd Shelton up 4-3 in 2nd VERY important win for this team.
Going forward, where do you get the live feed for these matches or even the scores. I looked at all the usual places and couldn't find anything, even the SEC site. Thks.
Women are looking better. Friday's lost to Georgia-a much better team than their current ranking, definitely a top 8 team. Kessler appears to have her groove back and is on a roll ever since beating a top 10 player from Ohio State. Zein rebounded well after a disappointing loss Friday. Dudeney-is she coming back from an injury? The last 2 matches she's looking like a top 20 player. Sorry between the men's team, indoor track, softball, men's and women's basketball, gymnastics... I've fallen behind on the latest women's injury situation. Friday's match vs Georgia-I'm still not accustomed to the women's team struggle at home. 30 years of dominance- Florida and Stanford were the IT programs- and then we have 1 bad season...I know we all have been shaking our heads so I'll shut up. Today's women's match they battled hard which is encouraging. The talent is there to be a top 10 team IMO. Anybody know how RT is doing on recruiting for next year?
PlaySight I have an account with them. It's free. When I clicked on the Video icon (as oppose to the Live Stats icon) next to "Experience Live" on the team's Schedule page, it went directly to PlaySiite for the Tennessee vs Florida match. You can set your free account on the spot and start watching.
Kessler is definitely coming around. Re Dudney, I think it's just a freshman starting to have the light bulb come on. "One bad season"? We have been pretty bad the last 4 seasons, certainly by UF standards. Basically have not been competitive nationally since our title 5 years ago. UF has a top 5 type signee from California and a Russian commit that looks middle of the road. My understanding is that Coact T contract expires at the end of this season, possibly something to watch.
"1 bad season" meaning 30 years of dominance and it took only 1 bad season to fall from the top and we haven't recovered. You'd think with the history of our program we would bounce right back. I never in my dreams thought our program would ever struggle for any length of time. Maybe a "blip" here and there. Even Stanford has a down year every so often but you never see them struggling for consecutive seasons.
Gotcha...yes, the roster management has been baffling to say the least. Much coincides with the decision to part ways with Dave Balogh, that decision looks bad
Dave and I trained at the 300 Club along with Shaun and Nicole Stafford, John and Ed Ross, Shelby Cannon, etc and a bunch of other kids back when Gainesville was a hotbed for junior tennis. I bet he's coaching there. I am shocked he did not get a coaching position at another Div 1 school. It doesn't make any sense. All those years at the nation's top program not named Stanford, the Natties and SEC titles. The all-Americans...#SMH
