Probably hated Florida fans so much at this point that he wanted to go to our biggest rival and try to beat us.

I would have liked to see him succeed at Ole Miss. Now I hope he loses every game.

 

One hundred percent. White clowned around at UF, and then bolts to UGA? Screw him. You basketball guys are way too kind.

 

I would have pulled for him at any other school. I was on the fence about him staying or going, did not expect him to go to UGA. Damn

 

We hated him way more.

 

I tend to think Stricklin is too risk averse for that sort of a pick. That is the high risk/high reward pick. But it is interesting as a thought (man, he could start going head-to-head with Calipari from Day 1).

 

You heard White in some of his last few press conferences. He has a very low bar he sets for himself and his teams. Competing for championships should not be an unrealistic expectation. Tenn won the SEC for the first time in 43 years. Virginia Tech best Duke in their tourney. If Mike White does not believe, he should be at a basketball program that is not looking to win like UGA.

Though I didn’t expect it to be uga…. Mike’s departure is hardly a surprise.

Now two questions remain:

1) who do we hire?
2) what are you going to post about?

 

I didn't fully turn anti-Mike White until the Oral Roberts loss. That entire game felt lazily coached, and it was the perfect spring board to launch a deep run that was PERFECTLY set up for him to capitalize on. He never had the sense of urgency to win, in my opinion.

 

Georgia also sending a fat check to UF to do this.

First this is great news. Second, does uga have to pay us a buyout? Three, we don't have to pay his buyout. Fourth, who pays for the buyout of the assistant coaches?
MW had to know he was on shaky ground. Fact is the bb team was not competitive towards reaching the top. I can't imagine his piss poor offense escaping the attention of our AD year after year. It wasn't like he wasn't given lots of chances.
MW is a standup guy. No question about it. If his coaching ability matched his character we would be vying for titles.
