Well CMW steps into another SEC opportunity with a chance for a new start. Can't say I'm excited about UGA but I suspect that job will give him 3 - 5 years of job security.

Can he recruit and succeed in the Atlanta Metro area?

May also have to back off earlier statements of wishing him success if he does leave.

As far as I know Dana is clean, but having such tight Nike ties is a concern.

That was unexpected. I don't even know how to feel about this. I was prepared to wish him well at Ole Miss next year, struggling with this one. He will look a lot better at UGA taking over from a coach who didn't win enough. Hard to follow a legend, much easier to follow a guy who got fired for not producing.

Good for him getting another power 5 opportunity, but going to UGA does bother me. (Ole Miss wouldn’t have). He hasn’t shown he can be a great coach, but I can’t see him having a 6 win season there either. He might elevate them enough to annoy us more than UGA has been able to in recent years, plus he’ll probably have extra incentive to do just that.

 

I wonder if he got the word from SS first saying “if you get an opportunity now, take it because you aren’t coming back.” If not, I think it taints him some.

I have no inside info, but I would look into Grant, Kevin Boyle, Kenny Payne, Greg McDermott and some others. There are quite a few really good ones out there. I am excited for now.
