"Still, it would take a miracle—or some staggering incompetence on the part of either the CCU or the IARP hearing panel—for this not to result in major sanctions. Will Wade will never coach college basketball again, and the profession will be better because of it. And the school will pay a price for resolutely refusing accountability. But none of that helps those who were freshly fired or who are sitting in prison. Will Wade kept getting paid while they paid a price." Such a blatant cheater, he should never have a job in basketball at any level.
Good article Brent. I was one that just could not believe that this would ever come to fruition. I guess LSU is trying to act as if they are "self imposing" their own form of disciplinary actions.
Scumbag, disappointing it took this long, but at least he's finally gone. I still think LSU should have to vacate that SEC title that they cheated to get
Most basketball programs are relatively clean, but I feel as though we are squeaky clean. You could eat off our basketball court. I thank Mike White for that integrity. It may not matter to all of our fan base, but it matters to me. How you win is important.
THREE YEARS!!! They let him represent that University for three more years. Three years of thumbing their noses at the world, silently bragging at their Rule-abiding agnosticism. I think that they waited to get formally charged to rid themselves of that stench is itself grounds to hit them with severe sanctions.
And to think that had the FBI not done an investigation, he would be good to go. Although there is that small part about him using his personal checking account to pay players. Such a moron. Sooo.. what this tells me is that unless you are a complete idiot, and the FBI does an investigation with wiretaps, no one gets caught. Which is how certain universities have rampantly cheated and always gotten away with it.
