It looked like most of spectators were Gator fans. NC State averages around 1,000 per game. Last night's attendance was 3,300. So probably 2 out of 3 were Gator fans. It sure looked like it!

Thanks! I didn't think of "highest score to count." Duh! It's so logical that I didn't see it. Sooo much easier than trying a random number like 198.250..then add....divide the total by 5...dang It!...Let's try another number...

Michigan needs 198.450 to pass us. What does Auburn need to score?

The way Michigan has started on Vault (49.350), it will be extremely tough for them to score 198.450. Why isn't this meet on ESPN?

tjey can’t pass us this week, would have to be next week. But a bad score would mean it can’t happen next week either, and we would be no worse than third.

No. T-5 Auburn and No. 33 West Virginia at No. 3 Michigan
    BTN+
    Live Scoring
    Live Blog

Why You Should Cancel Plans for It: Michigan is going to come into this one with a bone to pick after dropping out of the top spot nationally for the first time all year. What better way to close out your home season than with a high-stakes meet against the reigning Olympic champion? Auburn is on a roll and will want a big away number to break that No. 5 tie and sit in position for a one-seed at regionals. It’s a big one NQS-wise for West Virginia, too, which currently sits on the regional bubble.

What We’re Watching: This meet could become a 10-fest. The Crisler Center judges haven’t thrown them out like candy this year, but it is senior night and the environment should be intense. We could also see six 10.0 start value vaults from both Michigan and Auburn. If the Mountaineers will get in on the score party, it’ll likely be on floor where Kendra Combs in particular has been spectacular.

What Else You Should Know Before Tuning In: Bev Plocki is a Mountaineer gymnastics alumna. She was recently inducted into West Virginia’s athletics hall of fame.

Bringing in Bev Plocki’s alma mater and the reigning Olympic champion into Crisler for senior night is pretty genius. We’re saying farewell to Natalie Wojcik, Abby Heiskell and Abby Brenner tonight, so get your tissues out.

Michigan can’t catch Oklahoma and regain the No. 1 spot after this meet no matter what happens, but it has a shot at taking No. 2 away from Florida. A 198.225 ensures it stays ahead of No. 4 Utah. For Auburn, the path is easier. Its ranking buddy Alabama is idle, so dropping the low 197.250 means taking sole possession of that ranking spot. Of course, moving up on Utah and sneaking into the one-seed spots for regionals is the goal, and not out of the question.

West Virginia is holding onto its regional berth for now, but still not fully safe. A 196.300 here ensures the Mountaineers stay in the top 36 heading into championships next weekend.

Welcome to Big Ten gymnastics, Auburn and West Virginia fans. Streams on BTN+ tend to…not really start on time. This one is rolling on schedule, but the four minute touch just started, so first vault will still be a few minutes. Also, the live scores are still from the PSU meet, but if you refresh a few times once we see a vault, they should update to today’s meet.

    AFTER 1: Auburn 49.375, Michigan 49.350, West Virginia 48.975

Messy landings for Michigan gave away a lot of tenths in that rotation, and really quite clean work for the Tigers let them steal the lead after one. We’ll see if Auburn rolls with a six 10.0 vaults lineup here to minimize the built-in score disadvantage there.

    After 2:
    Michigan 98.825
    Auburn 98.425
    W Virginia 98.125

Auburn was able to drop the fall, but still had to count Lee’s error, letting Michigan run away with it at the halfway point on the heels of a great bar rotation. West Virginia put up a very solid 49.300 on floor. The Mountaineers were excellent there, with particularly clean leaps. Auburn can be excellent on floor, and beam has been Michigan’s toughest event this year, so this rotation will be crucial for both squads.

have to wait for the final scores, but all but locks up no worse than third now for us. And Michigan Sill need a huge score at their conference meet to pass us, without us improving.

Michigan went 49.325 on Beam, Auburn 49.225 on Floor
    After 3 rounds:
    Michigan 148.150
    Auburn 147.650
    WVirginia 147.200

The Mountaineers are in a decent position to get close to the score they’re looking for here, a low 196 is the ticket. Michigan had some nervous mistakes on beam but held the deducitons to a minimum for the most part. Jacey Vore will be feeling very confident after her set got the Wolverines back on track. Auburn just looked a little gassed on floor. Passes were just not quite rotated enough. Could just be some fatigue after a double meet weekend last week.

Regarding Michigan and us, it's not mathematically impossible, but high improbable they will overtake us for 2nd. Michigan's NQS is now 197.96. To catch up to our 198.05 in one meet, Michigan would need to count their 198.525 and would give them 198.08. This means Michigan needs a 198.530 or greater next week. Florida clinches 2nd place by scoring 197.950 regardless if Michigan counts their 198.525.

I hate What if's but if we had stayed on track and scored 198.200 last night, our NQS would've been 198.095 and we'd still have the 197.775 to drop. But better to have a "blip" now and not during post-season. Right?
